as silvapain said it's a personal preference thing... I had the JBR knob and it made it very smooth...but my tomei knob (which weighs next to nothing) brings out the more mechanical feel... The full replacement is so nice that even with the light weight knob and light weight counter weight, it's still light and easy to shift but gives you more of the notchy or mechanical feel...

When i get mine, I'll try it out with the stock knob first. If its still too notchy for me, I'll try a heavier knob.

For those who have experimented, what's the difference between running a heavy/light shifter weight vs a heavy/light shift knob? I've read a lot of threads where people go with a lighter shift weight and a heavier knob. Would that be the same as leaving it stock? I'll eventually try it out myself, just wondering if anyone has an answer.

basically the same for both, lighter makes it more notchy and heavier makes it smother..

the only recommendation I have is placing the assembly as far back as you can (the 4 main bolts that hold the assembly to chassis are slotted).. I aligned mine right in the middle of the slots and found that I my pinky would pinch against the console in reverse,1st and 3rd gear if I was not careful. I ended up getting the tomei cause it was thinner and it worked out. One of these days I'll go back in there and align it further back.

OK cool, i mean right now I prefer a heavy knob and have the moddiction anvil, but since this was a better shifter altogether thought maybe I could go back to a lighter knob but I hate the notchy feel. What about this setup with a jbr ssp? I know people run it together, is it extremely short throws, like too short?

I put the jbr ssp v1 with the TWM. It took took me only one shift to realize how crappy it was.. but that's just me.
