Default Tire size for 18x8 48mm offset

I've looked everywhere, can never find a definitive answer. Will 245/40/18 fit without rubbing on stock suspension or do I have to run 235/40/18?

no one replied yet so I will be the first one, I've lurked through dozens of forums if your specs match the RX8 tire then apparently it won't rub then again if you add passengers it will be a different story. I've read reports it also depends on a tire, some tires are a tad wider some aren't, to be safe I'd go 235/40 difference is minimal this way you are safe than running into rubbing issues and having to roll. I was pretty set on getting 245s before myself on Tenzo Type Ms, 18x8 but since reading about new tires being chewed I wanted to be safe than sorry

Gen 1, you'll need to role your fenders to run 245s. Ive got +48 offset but 18x8.5 wheels and run 235s no issues. Wish I would of went 245 tho.

Why do you regret I mentioned earlier difference is minimal you saved yourself trouble having to roll if you rubbed running 245s. What tire make are you running anyway? I suppose if I were to go 245 I wouldn't be lucky with a few passengers in the back.

I had 235/40/18 on my RX-8 (+50 offset) wheels and I never had rubbing on my rear fenders, even with passengers. My car is dropped about 2 inches.

Old thread revival...

Running 18x8s (et40) and lowered on Eibach PK. I'm looking for tires. Im looking into 235/40s or 245/35s. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

FYI: Rear fenders are not rolled yet.
