(Thread Starter) | But anyways, I made it to join them last night and i had so much fun cause there were some nice and fast cars. I think for me the best car of the night was this Ford Focus RS that owned almost everyone except a BMW 135i highly modded. The club joined between 12 and 1 am at an AutoZone then we went to the outsides of the city to star running at 2 AM. There were a few LS1 Camaros, a BMW 135i, Ford Focus ST (my MS3 owned him ), Ford Focus RS, a really really fast Audi TT with almost 500 hp, between some other cars.The first race was me (MS3) vs the Ford Focus ST (5 cil turbo engine with 225 hp). I won the 3 times ![]() I'm sorry i couldn't get any vid, i forgot my video cam at . but i promess that i'll rec next weekend. The Focus RS is completely stock, but it does 13.5 bone stock at the track... its a really fast car!

It's not a RX7.. Rx7 weren't sold never here. That's a Camaro LS1. I have a RX7 (FC) but i had to import it all the way from the US. I've never seen a FD here in Mexico.

I won against the ST, first race only by a hood, next 2 races by 2 cars. The RS beat me like 3 or 4 cars :S i couldn't catch up from second gear...

You started the races in 1-2nd gear? Its no wonder it whipped you so bad. You should be at about 290-295@crank and weigh roughly 100-150lbs less (3300vs.3152) than the RS which is like 305 crank. I would think from a 3rd gear roll it would be pretty close. I don't even bother racing below 40mph, 1-2 gear are a joke. |

| The 201 Focus ST platform has a STRONG STRONG aftermarket. The only car on that list that could give it a good run is an Evo or a 11 mustamg blown. The Focus RS is already in the mid 450s and is headed higher. Besides, the car handles on rails and can drift like a AWD car.

I think the Focus RS handles fine stock but once you start increasing the power due to FWD it's not going to be nearly as enjoyable as a closer to 50/50 balanced RWD or AWD car. I suppose if you’re more into roll racing it would be the better choice. I’ll take the handling dynamics of a good 50/50 RWD car over any 40/60 FWD period. A base EVO X GSR would be a far better starting point in my opinion if you plan on modding. OH and it would be less $$$ as well.

ya im trying to rid of my car so i can score a sick deal on a evo x gsr SSS! Damn i thought $13500 for my car with the coilovers someone would have been like "ill take it"... damn car is priced to sell and none has jumped! Carmax ftw...or lose i guess none the less the focus rs is sick car imo

Judging by lap times from various tracks around the world between the Focus RS vs. MS3 and others I’m not all that impressed. Yes it’s indeed quicker than the MS3 but then again it’s also A LOT more and I think the MS3 could be just a quick with a few simple tweaks. I could buy a used S2000 with 20k miles for about 17- 19k add a turbo kit 5-6k, decent rubber, coil –over suspension and eat that RS’s launch all day everyday. And I would enjoy the driving dynamics of a perfectly balanced RWD sports car for 8-10k less. Or you could just get a 370z and be A LOT better right out of the box for thousands less. The RS isn't the greatest value, but they're definitely amazing. Kind of makes one wonder how much different of a car company ford would be if they weren't so worried about cannibalizing Mustang sales. Then again, we all know that hatches don't sell so well in the US. That's also a Volvo motor in that car...ehhhhhhh

(Thread Starter) | The orange is not a RS, its a ST with only 225 hp. The only color for RS in Mexico is the green one, at euro you can get also the Blue or White one, while the ST is sold in Black, Orange, Blue or Red option. There are several details that you can see to notice the difference between the RS and the ST. RS is 36,000 usd, while the ST is 26,000 usd but i've heared that the ST has a weak point: the axle, it brakes easy the car is doing high levels of torque. Anyone who would want those RS wheels on their Speed3, please explain to me how the hell you clean your wheels without bustin' up all of your knuckles? (Those look even harder to clean than ours.) Of all of the things I love about my Speed, washing the wheels is something that I dread. I usually try to wash them before I wash the car. It takes me longer to wash the wheels than the car.
