Revolution Performance Motorsports Revolution Performance Manufacturing (RPM) was started by three Mazda 6 enthusiasts in early 2004 under a simple premise: to develop and manufacture new products for the Mazda 6 at an affordable price. We began to realize our purpose with the short throw shifter and gas hood lifter kits for that vehicle. Since then, we have added many new aftermarket products from well-known manufacturers and continue to expand to offer products for other vehicles with the goal of having the best prices and customer service on the 'net.

Based on how long it took him to figure out what I meant by "reversing the brackets" I don't think we will see as many issues as he had.
Also, I imagine he started bolting on and tightening down parts, before getting them all put on there. Hence, why he had pictures of holes not lining up with other bolts fully tightened down already. When you do that, you will always think parts aren't fitted correctly.

I'm calling installer error (Not a SURE reference)

I just read that thread and called Treadstone. They said they've only shipped two kits. They said they were aware of issues with one of them. This customer received a prototype crash bar because he didn't want to wait for the production run. The issue was that the holes for the brackets didn't line up because they were off by a half an inch and Treadstone assured me that this was resolved prior to the production run. Everyone that's a part of this group buy will receive production pieces.

If we don't have 40 orders what happens then? Is it canceled or does the price change?

As long as we're close, we'll take care of the rest. We don't want to delay if we don't have to, and we definitely won't change the price.

So Treadstone tell him I have a prototype bar but not me? I was told they could send me a steel bar instead of the aluminium one. I was okay with that. Not one that didn't fit. (Apparently TS told RPM that there was a fitment issue?)

And how is the hood latch being off by a solid inch installer error?

Also, reversing brackets didn't help at all with fitment. It made it harder to get the hotpipe lined up (still touches the a/c compressor) and the core still touches the a/c condensor

And where does it show the fitment issue with the rad support and bolts tightned down? those where taken before everything was tight. the picture of the latch support has the bar tightned down to show how off it is.

Have you talked to Treadstone about the fitment issues? Maybe they'll send you a production aluminum bar to replace the one they sent you originally. That should take care of your problems.

If you leave a voicemail, I can usually call you back after hours. We aren't "open" tomorrow, but if you leave a voicemail or PM me your number, I will call you.

I've called them twice. Once Friday (was told someone would get back to me asap), sent them pictures explained everything etc. and once today. I had to retell the story today and was again told someone would get back to me. (Now end of busisness Friday and no call back)

Both times I called I never was told that I had a prototype bar that woudn't fit. When I ordered it over the phone I was not told I would be getting a prototype bar that wouldn't fit.
The only thing I was told is that I would get a steel production bar instead of aluminium.

I will try them again on monday and ask for a "production" bar that fits and see where it goes from there.

I worked for a long time at a vintage britsh shop as a mechanic and had to fab a lot of parts/brackets/lines etc for customers, if I had something that didn't fit I wouldn't send it just to get a sale or get them off the phone I would say sorry you have to wait.

If I was told I would be getting a bar that didn't fit I would have gladly waited. I was told I could get a aluminium one in "two weeks" or a steel one today, so I opted for the steel one.

With all of that being said. The fit and finish on the kit is topnotch and I don't want to disuade anyone from getting it. I appear to be a isolated incident but it's still frustrating.

Well, maybe whoever sold it to you wasn't aware of the changes they made between the one you received and the production version. I'm just speculating. Who knows.

Anyhow, if you continue to have trouble, let me know. I know how to get a hold of them and I'd be happy to help get this resolved for you even though you didn't buy it from us, as I agree that they shouldn't have stuck you with something that doesn't fit if you weren't made aware of it.

I would have gladly bought it from you but I picked it up day one. Before you or edge had anything promoting it so I nabbed it straight from TS

I'm hoping it was a error on whoever sold its part and nothing more, But that still doesn't explain the no call back twice.

FWIW, I called TS at 888-789-4586 today at 2:09PM and they answered right away.

I also saw the kit 1st hand on @Mx52star;'s car Tuesday and the kit looks and fits great on his car.

I'm sure you will get things worked out.

So with the JBR piping being behind the group buy schedule - will there be any incentive when the kit is released or is this pretty much over for those of us that bought the TR8 and nothing else?

For those that buy the TR8 during this group buy, you obviously are getting the lowest price on that regardless of what you do next. However, once JBR's kit is out, we will offer it to you guys for less than everyone else, as though you had purchased the combo from us during the group buy.

The 5 who have already ordered and are marked in the first post will have first dibs on the units reserved for us by JBR out of his first batch. Anyone else who orders as a part of the group buy will be in line after you guys and will probably have the option to either purchase direct from JBR at full price or wait until we get more units from his second batch.

We will also have a separate combo price for the JBR kit and TR8 for those that did not participate in the group buy, but it won't be quite as good a deal as the one offered to those who participate in the GB, and of course, won't be available until all of the GB combos are taken care of first.

Will the GB price for JBR (core, pipes, etc) be less than the treadstone kit GB price of $699? That's what I want to know.

I don't believe there's any pricing for that kit yet.

Well, based upon preliminary estimates from JBR, I don't believe so. If I had to guess, I believe it will be around $50 more. There's a possibility that it could be less than $50 more, but I don't think it's possible for it to be less than $699. [Disclaimer: This is an educated guess, but it's still a guess. We won't know for certain until JBR releases pricing.]

Just finished paying for my order

It came out to just over 16% off for the piping, crash bar, and tr10 core. It ended up costing a couple of bucks less than what you guys are selling the treadstone kit for. Such a nice deal!

@RPM; If you guys have an order to send everyone's stuff in, then put me down for later ( Order# 137826 ). I probably wont get around to installing until December and will be out of town for the next week anyway. Thanks again for doing this group buy!!!

I got it. Just tried to call, but no answer and I guess your voicemail is broken. I'll try again later.

It's the one that comes on the CX Racing kit, which is a stock-style flange. It's not threaded like the stock flange, though.

Oh I thought it was different, mine leaked when I used it with my hks to mazda adapter, because the stock gasket sat in one of the holes used to secure the bpv they supply(if that makes sense lol)

Well, it's the same basic diamond shape, but it does have the 2 extra holes. We've installed it in a couple of cars with no issues, but I suppose if the gasket on whatever adapter you are using overlaps with the second set of holes, there could be issues. I haven't been keeping track of which BPVs and which adapters work and don't work.

IMHO 2867 is a great option for our cars. It spools lightning quick and don't run out of breath at high RPM. I love mine.

Just thought I'd give everyone an update. We're still at 27 orders. We did get a couple more, but a couple people also backed out.

We still haven't heard back from the following people who originally showed interest: @lobitoPU, @mauro_ms3, @Z32_MS3, @GilroyMS3, @Palms, @fz6brian

@happykat said he's ordering this weekend.
@Mazdaspeed3KHP said he's waiting until the last day to make a decision.

@JTMS3 is banned. If someone knows how to contact him outside of MSF, please do.

I'm still on the fence. The buyer for my block backed out after I tore the engine down and crated/palletized it. What is our absolute last day to order? Is it tonight or tomorrow?

@RPM; I do not see my name on the list.

The money will not be cleared in my PayPal until Tuesday, but be assured I will be paying for what I put myself down for.
