Curious question what the difference between vta and recirculate bov or bpv? What the pro/cons? I installed my hks and i recirculated instead of running vta. But i can barely hear the swoosshhh noise. Any input would be great !

I am running a turbosmart 50/50. No stalling or backfiring. Runs great. People had said it would run worse than a BPV but i dont see it. Its loud enough and runs great. I also loved my forge BPV. I can not speak on full VTA but I am sure that it will run a little worse than stock since our cars are setup for a BPV

As dima said, the 50/50 thing is okay, but full VTA will run like crap. Give your HKS a while to settle in. I switched my 50/50 dual port to a full bypass valve and it was WAY quieter for the first two weeks but as it has broken it, it's getting louder. Keep it in recirc or get a 50/50 or people will think you are driving a twenty year old beater from all the backfiring at full VTA

I have the same kit and keep it on full recirc. It runs great and is pretty loud by my standards but I am more of a subtle type person. Does the HKS even have a 50/50 option? I didn't think it did... My vote is keep it full recirc. Any louder and you'll be getting some unwanted attention by the po po. But if thats how you roll then go for it.

use the big rubber hose that routed ur stock BPV into the intake. You might need to cut an inch or so off of it so it dont kink. |

i run my hks recirc and it sounds like it does in 18psi's vid- not sure if my aluminum turbo inlet pipe helps amplify the sound or not.

It's your inlet that makes it quiter. My HKS in recirc was way more muted after installing the inlet.

The spool is louder for sure. When I was added my first mod, CAI, the stock bpv was pretty audible. Later on, with inlet installed, I put back my stock BPV for a while. It was practically dead silent at low boost, and could hardly hear it at high boost. Not as loud as without inlet. I thought I've read plenty of posts about this with other people, that adding the inlet softens the bpv sound. It was true with me at least.

I have the motorsport forge valve with a cp-e cai and cp-e inlet tube and it sounds pretty loud (not as loud as the video but pretty close). I also was not aware that replacing the factory inlet tube with a performance version, it soften the sound. Too bad I did both the inlet and the cai at the same time so I can not compare. But with the cai and inlet with the stock bpv is also fairly loud. The forge unit double the sound.

Here's what mine sounds like with the CP-E TIP and SRI (stock BPV). Way louder than what I expected. I'm thinking about putting the stock airbox back on. 6th gear, about 70% throttle. Sorry for the shaky video.

And if you want to go back to the stock airbox because the intake is "too loud", you probably shouldn't mod your car at all.
