I swear this is the best on gas my car has ever been lol. Almost there.

I was going to drain some of the gas last night, but I decided that fail was close behind if I did that. Good things come to those that wait soooooo yea......

Either I drive too much or you drive too little but how long does it take you to get through a tank of gas where you actually consider draining gas out to speed up the process? Lol

Well my commute to work is only about 5 miles 1 way so a long time haha. For perspective I have only driven my speed 3500 miles so far this year and that was with a 1500 mile trip to Maine. So yea, it takes me awhile haha.

Also I am sure this is the right place to ask but just to make sure my formulas are correct, if I am going for a 4/8 mix with 92 (since that's the only premium gas they offer at the e85 gas stations otherwise I would be doing 3/9 with 93) than 4/8 would be the same mix ratio as 3/6, 2/4, and 1/2 right? I only ask this because it is 25 miles one way for me to work and I would hate to run out of gas and not have an e85 pump around. So instead of running the tank down to empty, I could put 6 gallons in as long as my ratio was 2/4.

The only issue (if an issue considering your car will trim some of the fueling for us).. is the accuracy of the gas gauge.

I would always fill up with the same amounts every time, but your formulas are correct.

You will have a working 93 tune to resort back to if you run low on gasoline with no 3 pumps around.

yeah the gas gauge will only be used for " the bars are below a half, i know i can fit 6 gallons in" but if i run my car really low before putting in a 4/8 mix so i know i have an almost exact perfect mix to start with and then get to a half, as long as i put 2/4 mix in or an EXACT equivalent depending on how many total gallons i am putting in, the ratio would be the same? i will NEVER be "filling up" or "topping off" the tank. I just like knowing i can use some math and have options besides running my car down till empty and only doing 4/8. voltron is keeping a 3 gallon gas tank of E85 in his car at all times so he doesnt have to use the fancy math formulas. LOL i have a newborn that probably shouldnt be exposed to that.

Once you have a mix going, you can add any of the following depending on your % (you could round to the nearest # and still be within the ecu's ability to trim fuel properly).

If you see wot afr's come more than .5 point afr away from wot target consistently (not a hard fast rule), your mix is starting to come away from ideal.

Well, GODspeed7 is almost right. I don't keep it in there all the time....what I do since I have a 20 mile round trip to get e85 is, I bought a 5, 2 and 1 gallon container. I fill the 5 and 1, then store it at home. When I get down to about 100 miles left, I'll put the 2 and 1 gallon containers in the car and wait till I get down to as close as empty ad I can get, then fill up. I had to stop driving around with the shit buckled in lol cause I would be tempted to drive harder knowing I had e85 literally on tap.

Off topic but rfinkle2, why are you rocking a dizzy tuned banner??

I'm going to be tuning for Phate, Bucker and Boost_creep now. I'll explain later, but you are going to continue to be tuned on the Hypnotic fee schedule.

So got the E and lets just say this really woke the car up. I am getting a bit of spool up KR that seems to be caused by a spool up lean spot. But hopefully after some tweaking we can push it a little harder. She definitely is a bit of a madman now haha.

Just by looking at the afr I can tell there is more in it. Unless the MZR likes a richer E85 mix, but my LSJ liked a 12.2. Still, nice VD graph either way!!

That would be an interesting VD experiment, but all data collected so far on the dyno shows virtually no increase in hp from running 11.5 - 12.

I would've thought differently, but Phate has tested it a few times and saw little to no gain if running leaner.

Inherent differences in direct injection and fuel injection maybe? My LSJ (2.0 s/c) pulled more trq on 12.2 vs 11.6. I was also running straight E85. Too many differences tho to truly propose a hypothesis.

It must be the case (DI vs. PI). I totally agree that 12-12.5 is the proven sweet spot in many cases, but the DI seems to be comfy @ 11.5-11.8.

That being said, the only reason I use mid 11's is for a margin of safety on other's maps. If you are self tuning and keep an eye on things, I see no reason not to run 12.0 or so if you decide.

Do you mean no reason not to run 12.0? Either way, I'm getting antsy for the E85 pumps to be turned back on. I'll stop thread jacking now lol.

3 More logs. It was a beautiful morning out to datalog LOL. The car feels simply incredible and is very consistent. This is by far the best my speed has ever felt. I <3 hypnotic tune. E85 is like mother's milk for this car and Rob is like the E85 wizard.

I sent you one last revision, but I think that this last one that I sent is about as far as I'd go without a dyno...

This latest version of VD seems to read lower, although it may be the heat.

Can't beat ~50 hp from cheap fuel, imo. If e85 is readily available, or you don't mind mixing with containers, I don't know of too many mods that will net you 50 hp and be essentially free.

Big thanks to Phate for turning us all on to e85 use on the ms3.

Absolutely. When I first came on the MS3 scene I met with silvapain and phate and jliss and Matt Damond at a car meet and they were all talking about it. Now that I actually see what they are talking about, it's nothing short of incredible. Big thanks to all the e85 players that have thrown caution to the wind to be the test dummies and to all the tuners that have made it their goals to perfect the tuning process to make it safe for all of us.

BTW Rob, filled up last night, 1st, 2nd, half of 3rd are useless for traction. Huge smile on my face. Damn RMM and TMM I'm sure have something to do with that lack of traction on stock tires as well.
