Default First dyno pulls on Stage 1 and Stage 2 Cobb Maps

Hey folks,
I just got a chance to dyno my 2011 speed3 this weekend on a 4 wheel mustang dyno. Interesting results, but not quite what I hoped for. I'd like it if folks could look over a couple of the logs and see what they think.

Air temp was close to 80F, with very minimal air flow (a couple small fans). In trying both the Stage1 and Stage2 map versions, we weren't able to notice a change, so I ended up sticking with Stage1. HP maxed out at 246, TQ maxed out at 295. AFR's looked beautifully rock steady right around 11.7-11.8.

A couple of concerns - Boost pressure looks to max out around 98 KPA (14.6 PSI), never hit the target of 16.5 or 17. Second (and maybe related), no improvements through the stage 2 map. I hope to run a test for a boost leak later this week to see if something is up.

Power related modifications, rest is OEM:
  • Corksport intake, cold air box, and turbo inlet hoses
  • Cobb AccessPort w/ Stage1 + CS + TIH 91 V231
  • AutoTech CDFP internals

I'd appreciate any comments/questions/concerns/etc...

well first things first, your AP was not displaying the correct numbers. i dont remember why exactly this happens, i think it has to do with an update so i would look into that.

from what i can tell you achieved more boost on the stage 2 map and more timing on the stage 1, which is pretty typical. If the dyno was not loaded properly you wont see the same boost you see on the street because the necessary engine loads were not hit. not sure what 90psi actually is as far as boost goes...

Hi AP is just set up to log metric values instead of std. the 90 is in Kpa and 100 Kpa = 14.5psi.

Yep, hence the reason I think I must have a leak somewhere. I don't really trust those worm clamps, so I'm going to swap those out with t-bolts this week when I do a spark plug swap. After that, I'll do a leak test to see what's up. I really wanted to see 16.5 - 17 psi rather than 14.5

ahhh ok, dumb american here.

do you hit desired boost on the street? wgdc's arent too high so i think its more of a tune thing than boost leak, but it doesnt hurt to make sure. those wgdc's typically reflect a 15-15.5 psi boost curve

Doesn't look like i'm hitting desired boost on the street as well. On my drive into work today, I only maxed out at 13.93 PSI @ 4500 RPM. Fuel pressure was 1760, timing showed about 8 degrees of advance, with AFR right around 11.8. BAT's were right at about 100F, and 0 KR, so I'm not seeing anything that would cause the engine to back off.

Don't forget to check down where the Turbo Inlet Hose connects to the turbo.

Not currently. I was thinking that an downpipe would be next on the list of mods, as long as it doesn't disrupt the torque curve too much.

I'll double check the hose connections this week, once the new t-bolt clamps come in.

if the timing is down to 8 degrees on the stage 1 map it is because you are hitting more load than on the dyno where you saw 12.5-13. in order to hit desired boost you will need to raise the wgdc's. like i said earlier you are barely underboosting on the typical 15 psi wgdc curve, so a minor adjustment is needed if no leaks are found
