Missing Target AFR 1 Attachment(s) Hey guys, I got my copy of ATR for World Market MPS / MS3 after it was released last week and I’ve been working on getting my MAF Cal dialled in. I'm working from the Stage1 + CS + TIH 95 v231 map. (91 map for you guys) So far I’m pretty happy with it: 0 – 5.7: +1.6 5-7 – 18: -3.9 18 – 30: -3.1 30 – 80: - 1.6 80 – 120: -0.8 120 – Max: 0 (I think its closed loop by here). So it pretty decently dialled in, from what I can see, it was around -11 in the first two ranges and -3 in the second two on the OTS maf cal. My problem however is that I’m not hitting target AFR, I’m using the OTS AFR targets from the Stage 1 + CS + TIH 95 (91) v231 map... The target is 11.4 at WOT and I’m hitting 11.1. So I’m thinking that the upper ranges in the MAF cal need some work, I think it needs to be reduced as it looks like it’s running an effective negative trim. The question is what percentage do I reduce the MAF cal values by? I’m trying to get the MAF cal dialled in and hit my fuel targets before I move on to targeting leaner AFR and then from there I’ll dial in WGDC. (missing boost target (16.5psi) by around 2.5 psi) I generally see around 1.6 to 1.7 calculated load in the midrange dropping towards 1.3 or 1.4 load at redline. I’m at 5500 ft altitude, its summer here and ambient daily temps are around 80*F dropping to about 60 at night. Mods are CS SRI and TIP, Autotech HPFP internals. Map changes I’ve done so far: 1. MAF Cal 2. Raised open loop transition limits (Closed loop max loads) in order to try get LTFT readings in upper MAF breakpoints before it transitions to OL.. this is now on 1.4 load tapering to 1.2 at 7000 3. Dropped knock decay rate from 640ms to 150ms 4. Increased CL exit delay from 30 to 60 to try stay in CL 5. Added FFS limiter at 5300 rpm 6. Used stock (more aggressive) boost WGDC error comp Map attached I will take MAF logs and WOT logs today or tomorrow to post up, I just flashed a new revision this morning so I’m waiting for the trims to settle. Idea’s? Tl;dr: not hitting OL AFR targets, halp! |
http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...torial-125204/ Your closed loop trims look good, see the thread above for pointers on your WOT maf cal. |
Thank you, I was working from Abilor and Buckers guides which didnt mention OL MAF cal - i'll give it a shot tonight and see if i can get it right |
Subtract ~3.5% from 100g/s and up on your maf curve and you should be good to go. |
I use the same map here in europe. I get same values like you. AFR is 0.3 richer than target and my lower ltft where at ~8-10%. |
I dropped it by 2.64% (11.1/11.4)-1 and its now around 11.3, so I'm going to drop it a further 1% and it should be spot on. Smoogs, your 3.5% was dead right, thanks bud. |

Yeah this formula also works for me :) |
