Stage 2, not a big difference?

Hey guys,

Before I put my fuel pump internals in, I was running Stage1+CS+TIH 93. This was a HUGE increase of power over stock.

This weekend I put the internals in and the first thing I did after a hundred miles or so was flash Stage2+CS+TIH 93. I don't have an upgraded intercooler or DP yet. But I figured I should see a pretty significant increase in power, going from stage 1 to 2. The increase is minimal at best.

Is this how it's supposed to be? and the increase in power is when you have a DP and intercooler? or is there something wrong?

On a side note, I have not calibrated my MAF yet, but I was checking out my LTFTs and they are not horrible (around abs 6 without any adjustment), but not perfect. I'm not sure, but I don't think this would have a huge effect on my power.

Thanks,
Eric

A downpipe pretty much defines stage 2, with supporting mods. You should be on a Stage 1 map, and just do a MAF cal.

Gotchya, thanks.

Any rants/raves on some downpipes? I haven't done a ton of research on them yet.

Believe there are a few threads about them. I have the ebay DP (catless) and love it. Only thing I don't like is the stench.

Downpipe is a pretty good gain. I just tuned a friend and he gained 20tq with just a dp install. The biggest gain though IMO is with a tune. The OTS maps are pretty conservative, because of the variations in peoples mods and potentially fuel. All the tunes I do usually see about a 30hp/tq gain over OTS. Technically COBB defines stage 2 even with a test pipe, so you should still be good on the stage2 map. I would either read up on tuning yourself or having a tune done to get the most potential out of your set up.

You put in internals and just switched to stage 2 and thought you were gonna get a big power increase??? If you read what you need for stage 2 it would make more since but apparently no one reads anymore and just put on parts or flash a map and go. READ FIRST!!! Before you fuck up something.

internals are just a requirement to get to stage 2 safely. but then you have to actually do some mods to see a difference. a DP plus a stage 2 OTS map (or e-tune) would give you the increase you are expecting. and honestly, at stage 2, you should be in the process of getting a custom tune for your car. lots of good e-tuners on here.

personally, i will be getting the Cobb DP despite it being more expensive.

Another fail thread!!! Seems to be a trend lately.

The biggest gain I got was from my perm tune.

Started with the stage1 setup which was a noticable power jump. And then added the stage2 stuff, dp, tmic, hpfp, and the stage2 map and noticed NO gain. It actually felt slower. But after getting the tune fixed up the car runs pretty good now.

Look into an etune, best money spent so far

How much do etunes usually go for??? And who is recommended??

LEX! I just got finished with my tune by him and he was great, my car is a beast now. It will be the best $200 you ever spend mod wise
