Default 3rd gear grind...

Anyone else grinding 3rd with the JBR SSP when shifting fast? It never happens when shifting normally or slowly, just when shoving it quickly from a 2nd gear pull, I always end up grinding. I might redo the shifter selection setting and put the shifter into 3rd gear and then lock it down, maybe that'll help.

Did some reading around here the other day. I think it was 9900rpm that said Ford XT-M5-QS was cure all for tranny shifting issues.

Look Here

I thought I read somewhere that it was made for the European market, but it's called something else over there. Try searching for the European equivalent and I bet you come up with something.

I put the ford tranny oil in my car and it still didn't fix my 3rd gear grind.

Thats because of the AWD addition to the ms6 trannies. I was never able to get rid of my 3rd gear issues with changing the oil, what your going to have to do is adjust the shifter cables, as thats the only thing that every helped my shifting issues in my old ms6.

I found the name of the Ford Tranny fluid in Europe. Its called "Ford 75W-90 BO". Nothing more. It costs 18€ (26$) per quart!!! Fu**** expensive! I´ve paid for 3qt of Castrol 75w90 40€ (55$). It has about the same viscosity at 40° and 100° like the Ford.

Here in the US, the Ford XT-M5-QS stuff costs around $18 a quart. Buy the Ford stuff. It's been proven time and time again to work well in the MS3 transmissions. There is no substitute.

Yes it's expensive, but transmissions cost even more! Your call.

I´ve already bought the Castrol fluid before i knew that i can buy this Ford fluid here in Germany. I changed today the fluid. Difference is like night and day! Shifting is now extreme smooth. Tried some very hard shifts today, no grinding yet!!! I tried to drive slowly in first gear and full turn, i can notice a little LSD whine, but its hard to hear it. only happens on full turn and in 1. and 2. gear on part throttle. Can´t notice it in 3rd because of the speed. If it is only a sound problem, i can live with it. Maybe i had this before fluid change, never tried to hear it. And i can only hear it if climatic control is off, because its so quiet. i can say ++++++ for Castrol Syntrans. That shit rocks!!

I actually moved the shifter selector cable setting and I haven't grinded since. I put the shifter on 4th gear and released the spring and so far it shifts soo much smoother

Ouch! You guys have white as a color option, and had HID's with AFS, heated seats and LED tail lights in 2010. We did not.

Poland is much the same. ~40,000 for an MPS. I was curious because I may be moving, and I was seeing what would be cheaper, getting the one I currently own legal there and importing it, or just buying one....neither is pretty
