(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score ![]() The layout of this COBB 3” SS Cat-back was chosen to minimize the total bend degrees used to route the exhaust piping for reduced backpressure. The entire system fits within the factory exhaust path to allow the exhaust to be tucked up as close to the undercarriage as possible to achieve maximum ground clearance. Exhaust piping is 3” diameter from the downpipe to the split, where dual 2.5” pipes whisk the exhaust out of the system. The resulting path of least resistance minimizes back-pressure for maximum power gains. Harsh engine exhaust noise is subdued via one primary resonator and two secondary resonators. These large chambered resonators provide sound reduction without adding restriction to the exhaust flow. The resulting mellow rumble sounds and feels powerful, without being overbearing. This exhaust was designed to meet the 95dB sound restriction even when used as part of a full turbo-back exhaust system. Significant effort went into making this exhaust look as good as it sounds and performs. All three oval cross-section resonators are finished with rolled end-caps and beautiful welds. The 3” stainless steel piping has a satin finish while the entire rear section is fully polished for a stunning appearance. The exhaust is finished with 4” slash-cut, single-wall rolled tips with laser etched COBB logos. The entire kit is constructed of T304 stainless steel to ensure that it stays looking this great for years to come. This cat-back exhaust will work with the stock or any direct factory replacement downpipe. The two bolt flanges allow slight adjustability for absolutely perfect fitment. Includes all gaskets and hardware, and uses the stock doughnut gasket to mate to the downpipe. | Not Ranked : 0 score I am really happy that this is out but the price is a deal breaker. Looks and sounds great tho. I am also curious if the video was shot with a dp as well or just cbe because it sounds very similar to my magnaflow exhaust with downpipe.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Okay, probably going to get groaned for this, but I'll ask anyway: it doesn't specify in the description, but it does say that it mates with a stock downpipe. So that leads me to believe that this would include a 2nd cat delete testpipe as part of this set-up. If that's the case I could almost justify the price for it if it's got the second cat removed so that there is an actual airflow/performance boost out of it. No way I can swallow $1100 dollars for pure aesthetic purposes. (Yes I know, CBEs don't give performance boosts, but a testpipe does help so if this includes it I could possibly justify this sound to myself if there is even a nugget of benefit in there somewhere). TL;DR this is a FIRST cat-back exhaust? |
