have had the same thing going on. never had the issue before putting in my GT3071, have had the fuel pump internals installed for thousands of miles prior to BT.

Emailed Lex to let him know. However, if this doesnt really cause a reliability problem, i dont care.

Thanks for this very much though! good to know my new turbo doesnt have a faulty turbine!

Only thing I can imagine is it would just wear your PRV from the constant hammering when hitting the limit. Other than that, my car was garaged so the noise was extremely annoying echoing through the place lol

Turning down my commanded fp got rid of the squeak (fp is also much more stable now with the stock rv).

New RV will be going in in 2 weeks, so I will let you know. I will probably command fp around 1800-1850 with it.

Btw, ptp shipped my stuff really fast. Ordered Saturday, and received my seals/studs/rv yesterday.

I started getting the squeak after running corn. Gonna try Vit's method and see if it fixes it. Will report back!

Nope, those tables don't fix it. I can't tell if I have the squeak on cold start, cat less and race exhaust is too fuckin loud to hear the squeak.

Every time I accelerate at low throttle though it squeaks for a few seconds till pressure evens out. May do it under hard acceleration too but again too loud to hear it.

Have logged FRP under both light throttle and full throttle and the pump is holding up just fine. Just gonna keep fingers crossed this doesn't cause the relief valve to go out and it's just a gremlin under the hood.

So I'm just now getting around to adjusting the hpfp tables to get rid of the squeak at start up. Since I haven't opened up atr in months I guess there were some updates. Looks like now there are only 3 hpfp desired pressure tables (a,b,c). Using VitViper Excel file, which are the tables you need to copy over? From the looks of it you would use his C table for table A, table D for B, and table E for C. Just wanna make sure before I screw something up.

I still have 6 desired tables on the latest ATR...

In either case, you can use the same table pasted across all of them and it won't affect how the car runs.

I decided to go with the table that Enki made. I'm sure VitViper's would work just fine but since they were built for a Gen2 and all the tables were different I didn't feel comfortable using just one of them for all 3 of my tables. Enki said he used his values for all 3 so hopefully this will work.

Just flashed the revised map with Enki fuel tables. First start.....NO SQUEAK!!!! Let the rpm's drop and now fuel pressure is about 750psi at idle. According to his table this is correct. Before I was idling at about 430psi on the ots map. Is this extra fuel pressure going to make a difference good or bad?

No, it doesn't matter. I only run higher idle pressure as I'm always running a high mix of corn; feel free to drop those cells back down to stock and re-scale the rest.

Been paying alot of attention to the squeaky squeak on my fuel pump this weekend. The ONLY time mine does it is between 1675 PSI - 1800 PSI.

If I'm above or below that range there is no squeak.

What would cause it to only happen in those PSI ranges?

Ya it's on startup... that's where my fuel pressure is at on a cold start till it settles out.... but it's not just start up... it's constant, even after driving for 15 mins.

Happens on startup, happens light acceleration, happens WOT, anytime FRP is between 1675-1800 PSI.

And it ONLY happens during those PSI ranges. If I'm above or below, there is absolutely no noise.

As a side note, does anyone know when the relief valve starts to let pressure out?

Maybe that range is the point where it wants to bleed excess fuel, but it's not quite there...

I dunno, just an idea...

I'm going to try this. I get the squeak on cold start. Seemed to have happened after switching to corn too. Will report back in a couple of days.

VitViper,
Big thanks for sharing this information and figuring out the source of this noise. Been driving nuts and I was ready to give it to the dealer, thinking it had to be a bad idler bearing.

This also forced me to finally download ATR and p[lay with it a little bit. Loaded the map with modded HPFP tables this morning and no "squeaky squeak" for the first time in a long time.

Thanks again,
Erik

ebnash Enki VitViper

Sorry for thread revival and tag, but I have a couple questions.

The squeak started up in my car a couple weeks ago out of nowhere. Does anyone know the actual cause of the squeak? Seems to be the RV, but my car only has 9800 miles, and only 700 or so miles on the internals, so I doubt my RV is failing. Or is it from pressure spikes over 1900psi..

I will be changing cold start HPFP values to hopefully fix the squeak on startup. Occasionally I can hear it when I'm driving, though. It seems to happen when I am downshifting and rev match (basically only on throttle blips - i think), and it's ALWAYS at 2400-2600 RPM even on cold start. How would I be able to fix the squeak while driving? Drop HPFP targets for part throttle around 2500 RPM?

High pressure spike when cold starting. There's new fuel pressure tables elsewhere in the thread you can use to bandaid the issue.

Is this technically a band-aid or is it a fix? Autotech internals installed maybe 7k miles ago...

Well *technically* it isn't even an issue, just an annoyance. Take your pick.
