Default Downpipe install help! Wheres the how too!

I have searched for a how too on how to replace the downpipe off the turbo and didnt come across one that was informative. I know there must be a detailed one out there right??

I am in the middle of repalcing mine and ran into a snag. I cannot get leverage on the two lower bolts due to the alternator being in the way. I have removed the manifold shield as well as the alternator cooling shield. Are there any other brackets or shields I need to remove to get to the bolts? Are you guys getting all of them from the top?

From the top, closest to the block use a mid sized extension with a u-swivel and a deep 14mm socket. On the one closest to the fire wall just an extension. Use pb blaster and hulk strength

There is also a how to in the review on the cobb DP by Haltech in the reviews section.

Booyah!!! http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...-review-16310/

Thank You^^

After i cut my hand 3 times on that damn firewall shiled I finally got all the bolts off. The worst one is pictured below wth what I used. Snap on flex ratchet along with extensions and a wobble extension.

Sorry for the worthless thread.

This is WAY easier if you take that whole metal cowl that the windhshield wiper motor sits in off. Its only a few bolts and gives you like 4 more inches of wiggle room. At least, thats how it is on the 6

On the 3 you dont need to do that. On the 6 you need every inch you can get lol undoing the rmm helps too.

Make sure you tighten the fuck out of those lower bolts. When I was stocking out, my lower bolts were loose and I was missing the top closet to the exhaust mani. I did have all my motor mounts upgraded though. Anti-seize may not be a good idea.. I covered all mine with it. Not sure If it allowed the bolts back out from all the vibes.
