Freakin' RMM - Quick opinions please... So, I've noticed a couple of times, I've banged the engine off the firewall, shifting hard into 2nd, especially when I'm on un-even pavement and getting bad wheel hop. I schedule a service appointment and told the tech I want all the mounts checked out (he basically acknowledged on the phone that a loud bang from 1-2 is the stock RMM letting the engine hit the firewall). If everything comes back fine, or hell even if they have to replace the RMM under warranty, I still want to upgrade it. So, the question, which would you go with, I like to drive aggressive, but I don't want the car to shake me to bits either. My choices so far: JBR 80-Durometer JBR Chrome-Moly Other Cliff's Notes: Stock RMM sucks balls, engine hits firewall, I'm tired of it, time to upgrade RMM, which would you pick? |
I have the 80 & I wish I got the chromoly |
There is this nice little search button at the top of the page that will help you find all the answers you need. If you dont, then come back and ask again. (but with how often this topic is covered, you probably dont need to come back) |
JBR all the way. I have the 70 but havent installed yet.. |
The harder you drive, the higher the duro. If you truly drive hard often, I'd say Jbarones highest duro available. |

And it also works. |
trz delrin or jbr dogbone in the higher durometer dogbone or nothing...all other designs are guaranteed failure at some point |
I have the awr 88duro and it feels great. Sent from my T-Mobile G2 |
i love my jbr 80, but i do miss my trz dogbone. the dogbone, however, just made my cabin buzz like a mofo when hitting about 5k rpm. i couldn't deal. it was sturdy as fuck, there was almost no drivetrain lash. the |
Jbr 80 or dogbone for sure. I got the 70 but should have gone 80 |
Go trz dogbone, or go home. |
Thanks for the opinions guys. For the record, I read about thirty threads last night on RMMs of all types. I just really wanted opinions on going Dogbone, particularly in Gen2s. and to make sure I wasn't overlooking one (and I was, the TRZ). Thing is, the more thread you read, the more conflicting opinions you read, the more you can't make up your mind. At least on this topic, I was little bit on information overload. I'm gonna go dogbone, only question now is JBR or TRZ, no biggie, I can make that decision. Thanks again folks, -Rob |

I have the JBR 70 duro RMM and love it. Cabin vibrations are hardly noticeable but if you drive that aggressive definitely go 80. |
Yep, I decided to do the JBR Chrome Moly. Has to wait until the next paycheck, but I am looking forward to it! -Rob |
Good choice, JBR is the way to go for engine mounts. I have the 80 duro JBR and I love it. I was going with the dogbone but my MS3 is a DD so in the middle I went. Post your review after the install. The vibs are normal, the dash noise is normal. |

I have a TRZ poly bushing with 25k miles on it... I just traded my MS3 for a MS6 so I have no use for it. Oh, and it is still solid and in great condition... @RevolverRob PM me with an offer if you want to buy it! |
