I remember when installing an intake was easy. This thing was really a pain to install. Specifically the TIP. So much crap is in the way, and God forbid you have big hands! Installation aside, this thing is loud! I mean like a vacuum cleaner under my hood. I havent pushed the car yet, but the car does feel like its breathing easier. I am happy with the SRI. I wonder if it is substantially loud on the highway....

I dont care how loud it is, it was such a pain to install, that I will take the sound. Which i am sure will grow on me, and am glad to here that its not so bad on the highway. Which makes sense because I only really hear it when the turbo starts spooling.

I installed mine today to. I love the sound of it. You can really here the BPV and turbo spooooooling now. But I also agree, the TIP was a pain in the ass. All those god dam wires that were in the way.

i'm hoping my intake will be loud enough for that noise. i'm just cutting the MAF housing out of an airbox, using a small pipe then a cone.

| Not Ranked : 0 score are you making a custom intake? If you are, i think you should look into a straightener. All the aftermarket intakes come with an air straightener. You might run into CEL. What are you planning?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes i am and i'm planning to do what i wrote above. cutting the MAF housing out of a stock airbox, running a coupler to a small 3in pipe then a cone filter. The MAF is still going to be in the same position and housing it was originally just instead of a box there will be a short pipe with a cone, so with that in mind i figured that it should still read the same just with a better breathing intake.
