Default Installed new Ford RMM this afternoon

I kind of had to hurry as I was at work. Dumb easy sway as everyone knows. Used an impact on the vertical bolt. Noticed the shifting feels more direct, slightly better throttle feel. I figured I'd try a rubber mount for $55 (including new Ford bolt) and see how it goes. I may end up going with a softer poly one day. It's raining here, so I can really give an accurate impression of it yet. Part number is CM5Z6068A.

Yeah this is a "solid rubber" (most likely EPDM) OEM mount made for the Electric Focus that'll fit all other current Focuses (and apparently the MS3) as well.

CM5Z-6068-A E Focus trans mount in stock

Here's a pic comparing it (the one on the right) to an OEM ST mount on the left:

If that's the case. Let me check what my pricing would be on these and if its a viable solution I may be able to get them for you guys a little cheaper.

Wonder what the other mounts are like on the electric. Ill have to try and see.

That's it. $50.xx. So far, I like it, but it's making me think about trying a low duro poly mount just to feel the difference. No vibes or nvh difference that I can tell.

It's definitely better than stock, but I'm definitely considering a lower durometer polyurethane in it now. I may actually fill the voids in the stock one with some windshield urethane I've have for years and just see how that turns out.

I don't understand what you're arguing here man... The idea of using this mount didn't just pop up over night on MSF... People on the ST forums have been doing it and they use the same RMM as MS3s, so that's where it came from.

i'm not arguing. just commenting on the subjectivity of time..
the electric st came out a year ago, so that is the longest this thing would have been in use.. i just found it interesting you consider a year 'a while' while it seems so short to me. i pass no judgement..

To be fair:

Here's a pic comparing it (the one on the right) to an OEM ST mount on the left:

Just because there is a 2mm taint filler piece, does not make it solid, in my book.

This is the best low HP solution to no vibes, no wheel hop, and nothing banging off the firewall. When I first joined MSF I asked for the "compromise" RMM and got an earful from the "because racecar" crowd. Thus far, this has been the "no compromise" mount and a complete fucking win for $47.

Maybe if/when I go BT I'll get something more visceral and obnoxious for DD, but until then this resolves all of my qualms with the shitty OEM part.

Any updates on the durability of these mounts? Looking into getting one myself.

I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this mount. I've had it for a bit, for the first 100 miles it felt better than stock but now it feels like shit. I wouldn't go back to stock but I sure as hell would not buy it again, even though it's only like 50 bucks.

I sold the car a couple months back, but it's not a bad piece. I would say it held up pretty well. I also don't do any crazy aggressive driving.

How did you guys even get that mount in? The thread pitch it different than that of the OEM bolt.

UPDATE: Never mind. Realize I need a different bolt as well.
