shifter sloppiness

I know a few guys were working on something to fix the slop in the shifter cables, any word on advances for this? I have SURE shifter bushings, TWM short shift plate/counter weight, and unicorn jizz... tired of this shit

@Alpha what was the result of your inquiry...i can't remember and am too lazy to look at the thread...seems like it came down to the problem being inside the transmission and @jbarone said shifter linkage bushings wouldn't help.

NO SHIT!!! Bump for this!

ATTENTION VENDORS:

We don't need another set of base bushings or SSPs in an already saturated market. WE NEED THIS! Something new that nobody else has tackled!

TWM full replacement shifter. Made a vid for comparison, will post it later. It cuts down on that sloppiness quite a bit, and without any shift plates or weights.

I have a TWM, SSP, AND base bushings and there's still slop. Granted, not as much as the video above, but still enough to require improvement to be acceptable even in a linkaged tranny car.

bump and subbed

Sit on your hand till it falls asleep, then shift. No more complaints.

LMAO....seriously....

OK...so...this topic actually came up in another thread and in large part it got shot down by all the vendors that we tried to bring in on it. I think some of us are going to try and NATOR up some shifter cable bushings to deal with the problem. I took a video of the transmission-end of the cable and it's buried in this thread at post #107

I remember that thread and what jamie said about the bushings not doing anything. To see why I set up to take video of the tranny end of the linkages while I move through all the gears and played with the slop in the shifter. The problem is not, in fact, in the linkages but in one of the pieces that is part of the transmission. If you take the linkage off of that part you can shake it around the same way that the slop in the shifter moves it...hard to explain really but I don't think the solid bushings would help. I know Alpha is really pushing for them but I think he'd be disappointed if they ever got made.
