Default ur exhaust production issues

hey i know there are a few of you out there with the issue of the exhaust being unmarked and having shitty fitament. i would like you to post up here to raise the general awareness of this issue and bring it to ur's attention so they dont let shit like this leave their production line

issue#1 rattles off of the rear frame after wot pulls even with cs urethane hangers
isssue#2 hanger where it goes over rear suspension is too long and rattles
issue#3 no ur markings whatsoever, think about this guys, if you sell your exhaust how will anyone believe it is an authentic ur exhaust?

thanks, please post your issues with the exhaust if your experiencing similar things

the markings aren't an issue...that's just a customer preference (like blonde or brunette)...and UR must not have wanted to shell out the extra dough to have their name etched on their product.

If you didn't want to go through the hassle of sending your exhaust back, the hanger issues can be dealt with at an exhaust shop for around $40.

have you contacted UR to voice your concerns? what was their response?

yes, i have and they said i could send it back, but that leaves me with no exhaust on the car. problem here is where the fuck is qc?

shouldnt they be preventing parts that arent as advertised from shipping to customers?? i mean i paid 750 for this thing. i expect it to come with all detailing and fitament that a 750 dollar system should come with.

i mean fuck if i knew this was what i was getting i would have went to cs for an exhaust.

One of my exhaust hangers was too long / bumped the frame, otherwise decent quality.

Their shop is in Ontario Canada, not Quebec. QC is Quebec. Finding an exhaust shop to fix the problem is a bit annoying for sure.

Telling UR about this, warning all of us what are the issues and fixing the problem at an exhaust shop is the only thing I can see you could do about this. Thanks for posting the problem, future customers should ask if these issues have been fixed when ordering for now on.

OP all the people giving you shit would voice the same issues if it happened to them. If you pay for a product and its not up to the standard they are advertising it as, then you have a good reason to be angry. If you guys bought a AP and it didnt say ACCESS PORT on it, all hell would break loose.

exactly!, if it was a 300 dollar exhaust system i would fucking understand, but this is absolute bullshit, i have single wall, the angle is all off on the system too and the tips are angled in. there are absolutely NO markings on the exhaust anywhere.

i think its rediculous that i should have to go to a shop to get it fixed when I PAID 750 dollars that i worked hard for. there should be some sort of inspection before these ship out, i work at a factory and help with qc and if we shipped bullshit products like this to john deere and expected them to pay out of pocket to fix it or ship it back and have downtime then we would all be out of a fucking job.

It's a justifiable gripe imo. UR makes some pretty good shit, and their prices arent cheap by any means. If this were me, I'd be pretty upset also...because I would be thinking about the long run, when I go to part out, I dont want to have to prove that its a legit UR exhaust.
But where is your stock exhaust? If its seriously that upsetting to you, throw your stock one back on until the problem is resolved. Or, do what I did. I had ordered a cpe tmic a few weeks back, and they sent me one for a gen1. I called them up, told them what was up, and they overnighted me a new one, and once I got that one, I sent the old one back, all on their shipping dime. Call them up yourself, and speak to someone in a position of authority, you might be surprised with the outcome.

my stocker is burried under a bunch of shit in my storage locker, and i work and go to school for a total of just under 12 hrs a day so i have no time. maybe i can call them during lunch tomorrow and that would work much better than putting the stocker back on because it sat outside for a couple days and a few bolts got rusted. i know im gonna get shit for being lazy but i just spent 8 hours doing injector seals yesterday so give me a break lol.

the main point of this thread is to raise awareness and protect future and current buyers. i will be calling them this week though.

But here's an offer for you to make life easier.....my boy GODspeed7 is out your way, I'll send him over, he's got a stock exhaust for you, and he takes off your exhaust, puts a stock one back on, puts it on his car, and then you start fresh lol. Its win win dude. Let me know, I'll text his fucking ass right now lol.

I had fitment issues with my UR muffler section. Driver tip was too low and stuck out too far.

When I just recently installed my UP catted DP I also ordered the center pipe to make the muffler section a catback. Once I installed everything (DP, test pipe, center pipe and muffler, all UR btw) it fit perfect.

The only thing I can think of is the short pipe they sent to connect the muffler to the stock centerpipe was off.

And no etched Ultimate Racing anywhere. This is my second UR exhaust and I dont remember the other one having it either.

Not sure where you came from to MSF, but here, if people have a problem, posting brings awareness. This is how companies realize people are not happy with a product and it needs to be addressed. Spending hundreds on an exhaust system and having figment issues is not accepted on any platform. Going to an a exhaust shop on your own dime isn't acceptable either. Does it fix the problem? Absolutely, but this is not the correct avenue for an end user.

If this thread bothers you, move on and don't reply. Acting like an asshole to a person because they have this issue and you isn't acceptable behavior.

This forum has a purpose... It's to communicate with owners and manufacturers to provide an open channel of building the best products for the platform. It also helps one another deal with issues and push the platform.

And btw, you just don't send a fuckin exhaust back. Do you know how many stock exhausts systems I have laying around? Zero... Use your brain the next time you hit the reply button.

I have UR cbe. I get what you are talking about. Yes, the rear hanger is long. And yes, it will rattle if you don't adjust it well.

BUT... It's an easier fix than you think. You don't need stiffer hangers to fix it either. Cut that one hanger shorter using a dremel, adjust as best as possible and push the heat shield in on area's that the pipe is close to hitting.. I have never heard any banging/rattling noise from the exhaust.

I had to shorten one hanger, righter after the 'race' pipe section because it was hitting against the wall, then when i swapped for a full dp, it was almost too short. Changed the alignment quite a bit. I have a single wall and mine is stamped.

I've been thinking about getting the catted downpipe. I may have to re-think that.

I have an early version of the catted dp, and like dmuze, I had to weld in a new o2 bung, but they have fixed that and there are no issues. So you can buy that with confidence and you shouldn't have any fitment issues.

I have a UR TBE (DP, TP, CBE). I have no fitment issues whatsoever. Hangers didn't poke into anything, everything lined up, nothing was too long or too short.

I installed the CBE first, connected right up to the OEM 2ndary cat. Then put in UR TP, and it mated right up to the OEM DP. Put in DP a couple of months ago and it was a PITA, but not because of fitment issues.

I'm not trying to gloat, nor cast doubt on anyone else's ability to install an exhaust. OP clearly has fitment issues, and I hope they get sorted out. I'm just saying that it's not a universal problem. Could be variable quality, as OP suggested. I'm just adding a counter-example.

GunGuru727 had the same crack happen. Also had the same type of rattle which is how we found it. They sent him a new muffler section at no charge. Hopefully they do the same for you. Just give them a call

Damn that sucks. I had UR cbe and I didn't like how the tips hung down so low. Did not look clean at all. The fitment was tight which pulled certain hangers and fitted too close to certain areas. This made it vibrate and rattle at times. Yes they are minor issues that can be dealt with but like OP stated, you shouldn't have to. I sold my UR and got something else. I sure miss how it sounds though.

Exactly, the 750 you pay for this exhaust should be actually covering the r&d that's going into the piece. Because the materials sure as hell don't cost that much. Thoroughly disappointed, will be calling ur to get this replaced on Monday. Car is getting parted out and I just wouldn't feel right selling an exhaust that isn't perfect to an Msf member

I did have this exact issue.

My new muffler section has a slightly new design to it for support.

With that being said, I would still reccomend people this product not being biased. The welds are still really good, sound is great along with customer service. They did admit there was a problem. Alls they can do is make it right and that's what they did.

This should not shy people away from it, as it is now fixed.

Not sure what was going on here with UR for you guys, but I just got mine about two months ago and it's been flawless. The welds are outstanding, the fitment was great... I just need to actually get the CS urethane hangers at some point since the stock rubber ones are garbage.

I bought those at the same time as the CBE

Just to put this out there....this is not a catback but UR related product.
UR catted downpipe...purchased in early 2010, the weld cracked after a year and eventually it broke off completely. UR customer service, amazing....a replacement dp was sent to me after only a few days.

I think there prices are fair, I can't really vouch on fitment since I don't owe a catback.

If your talking to me and implying I fucked up an exhaust install I didn't, you'd have to be retarded to fuck it up. It was a factory defect, the pipe angles were off and it kept banging the frame which eventually cracked it
