Default Papasmurf's new numbers

New dyno numbers on a dynojet.

Shitty graph because I was getting lots of spark blowout up top.

Im running itv24's at the moment and am going to switch back to one steps.

This is all done at 5500 feet ASL.

35psi

track should be next week if my slicks fit. lol

First issue is curing the super blowout, which should be settled with the 5th port set up and not having 120% IDC's.

The curve would of been way cleaner if it wasn't for the blowout, but the tq will still be dropping off, this turbo is just out of its efficiency up in these clouds.

So 565 is SAE corrected - now please flame me if I'm wrong, but isn't SAE supposed to compensate for higher altitude in the context of N/A cars?

I seem to remember this coming up when Jwilks dyno'd up in New Mexico - because turbo'd cars lose less efficiency per increase in altitude relative to N/A cars, the SAE correction factor over-compensates for atmospheric power losses?

Please don't take this as saying that your car is anything less than impressive as fuck, it is - you can tell from how quick the car spins the rollers that it's making well over 500 whp - I just get off to beating dead horses and the altitude/CF debate is as dead as they come. I'm practically slapping crude oil right now with how long this horse has been dead.

I realize that turbo'd cars are going to have to run higher pressure ratio to move the same volume of air at altitude, so you do lose compressor efficiency and so power compared with ASL runs - but it was my understanding that the SAE correction factor was optimistic for such altitudes? Or is it a different C/F I'm thinking of?

IIRC Jwilks guessed he was ~30 whp down from what the 5500 dyno read in reality. But then again, correct recall is not my forte. I could be completely off.

Im not really a correction factor genius, but Im pretty sure you are correct.

They have about 3 or 4 different correction factors in the dyno software, but im not sure what the others are.. they all were within 10-20hp though. Im pretty sure its just percentages though... SAE is about 20% at my altitude I believe. I'd probably only gain 10% or so by going down to sea level though.

I just posted SAE because thats what all of the local cars up here go by, turbo, supercharged or N/A. Copy/pasted posts on different forums etc.

I also posted the uncorrected numbers for all the haters who have never experienced the power loss when at altitude.

Which means you have diminishing losses the higher you crank your boost, but they never reach zero.

I saw your uncorrected numbers - as I mentioned JWilks earlier, your uncorrected numbers were close to his corrected numbers, and he ~ 6 whp shy of 500 whp IIRC.

What I'm trying to say is, your shit is fast.

Not my conception of fast, which right now is 270 whp in a 3200lb car. Hell, that's not even fast for me. I just like being able to floor it in 1st and 2nd and not smoke the tires.

No, this is something else.
