Default 17" x 9" what offset

I tried on a set of Enkie RFP1's 45mm offset with 245/40/17 Dunlop Direzzas on them and the rear was just fine but the front was rubbing the strut, has anyone run this set up and with what offset 40 would prolly work and 38 would be hella frush(not what I'm looking for). Want an auto cross set up and to widen the track a bit as well as having a little moar side wall for the great roads around here in the NYC metro area.

My tires are 245/40/17 not what you posted... I believe a 42 offset will be good. Someone with more wheel fitment experience might know better.

Thanks , I would rather not use spacers so 40mm offset would do it.

Enkie RPF1 17x9 +45 w/Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 235/45-17... Note that I have Koni Yellows. On these shocks, the front are indented enough so the wheel doesn't touch... I'm not sure with the stock shocks though...

Looking at the Enkie website it seems that I will have to go with a 17 x 8.5 with a 40 offset the 17 x 9 would be a 35 or a 45. So either herra frush or spacer FTL. The Dunlop Dirreza star specs in the 245/45/17 are 25.7 in diameter compaired to the 25.1 of the stock 225/40/18 I guess I will have a longer 2nd gear for a/x.

Just keep in mine that the smaller size of the wheel wil change the look of the rim. You won't have s lip like me and the spokes wil kind of pop out a bit. Look at Vasken's old tires, he had 38 offset and 8.5/17 eith 235/45/17

17s with anything higher than a 42 offset will most likely rub on the stock strut assembly up front.

@kritz, i would go with the 17x8.5 40 offset. That should do you good and allow you to run a tire for autox.

Thanks Tyler, I believe I will go with 40 on the offset and get the 245/45's 17's.

@trf5000

BTW are you going to join us for a fishing trip? Check the NY,NJ Nator thread.

@apena85 would a 30 offset be ok to run? Wheel size would be 17x8.5 30mm offset. You seem way more knowledgable than me with this shit so I could use the help.

Sorry for the threadjack Steve lol

Edit: or would a 17x8 35mm offset be better? Either set would be run with 235/40/17 Nitto NT-05's. Ugh hate this shit!

I am new to the whole wheel fitment myself. I am just going off personal experience. But, be aware that with the tire size listed your going to be at -4.7% off on you speedometer, With my current set up I am -3.5% meaning that when my actual speed is 60 my speedometer reads 62.

That would be okay with me but it seems that during some hoonage the traction and DSC activate way often which annoys me. This is why for my next set up (w/ever that is ) will be 245 45/17 which are closer to stock at .28%.

Check this page out for the right tire size you should get at the width you'll like Tire size calculator

I don't know how good is this, but this might be able to help some of us.. .
