I might be interested in installing one of these in my car since it did not come with it. Keep looking and let me know how the install goes!

Good LUck!

I contacted Cardinaleway Mazda and they said they sent me the instructions (twice) but for some reason Im not getting them. I gave the parts guy my email on the phone and he sent it while I was talking to him and nothing.

I just got them. Its 8 pages long.

Well is it 8 pages big print or small print and are there a lot of pictures? That could make a big difference.

I just skimmed over them. You need to remove drivers side scuff plate, kick plate, door seal,A-pillar trim and of course the mirror. Then run the wire, tap into the harness, connect the ground. Now you have to drive around in a slow circle 3 times to calibrate the compass. It seems easy enough. I might try it because I hate having the garage door opener on my visor.

The installation is a piece of cake. I just replaced my mirror (without HomeLink) and it literally took 20 minutes. The installation kit has everything you need. The hardest part was replacing the A-pillar without breaking the clip.

The only other caution I'd offer is that if you have rain sensing wipers, be very careful when you put the new cover on (mine had a different cover than the original). I had trouble getting the wires into the channel and pulled it back off-breaking one of the clips. The original cover (the black box that surrounds the mirror mount/rain sensing wiper sensor) clips to the mirror itself. The new mirror cover clips to the rain sensing wiper box mounted on the windshield. If you pull too hard to remove it, you'll break the clips holding the sensor together. Not trying to freak you out-just be careful and patient...

Let me know if you have questions-I'm pretty sure that if you have rain-sensing wipers, the install is the same.

You also will most likely NOT have to drive around in 3 circles. I installed mine at work during lunch and drove home after work. By the time I got home, my compass was calibrated...I live a mile from my office.

Did the installation kit come with the fiber stick to remove the OE mirror? If not what did you use?

I ordered it for $224.50 Ill keep you posted on the install.

I installed it yesterday. There were only two real hard parts. The A-pillar trim has a little black Knob inside around the airbag that you have to turn and push to release. Then connecting a wire connector up under the dash. When I say up under the dash , its UP under the dash. It works great. It auto dims and has Homelink , so no more garage door opener on the visor.
You do need to drive around in a circle 3 times at 5 mph to set the compass or it will just stay in calibration mode.
