Long Crank at cold start
Background, car has 77k. It is stock engine wise except for RP gear oil and a K&N. The issue started suddenly, as in Thursday the car fired up after about 1 revolution. Then Friday it took 5-8 revolutions. I took it in to the dealer, had the intake cleaned (first time). They also replaced the battery. The car then started right up as normal at the dealer. Later that night the long crank returned and a tip out surge from 1000-1500 started. I had about 1/4 of tank, filled up and the issue remained.

I then pulled the K&N, cleaned the MAF, disconnected the battery, replaced spark plugs reconnected battery. The car then drove as normal no surge, and it started normally when warm. After it cooled off it took longer than normal to crank again.

Any ideas what could be the issue? My guess at this point is an EGR valve that is not closing all the way.

Had same issue, cleaned the egr and problem solved. There's a how to here somewhere preaty easy to do. Its a common issue especialy in the colder months.

Just wanted to post a quick update. Cleaned the EGR valve as suggested, using the how-to. Problem fixed car lights off like it should.

82,000 miles and a dirty EGR valve, set of front brakes, 2 sets of tires and the Speed3 is still going strong.
