Unknown hole, please help?

We have a brand new block built by CPE that we just finished getting put together and installed in my 2011 MS3. We went for first start and started gushing oil. We located the source and here is a picture. We can fix it, but we are curious what it is for. It is located beneath the passenger side engine hoist hook behind the idler pulley. See pics. Please help and thank you very much.

Um. Gen1 cars have their power steering pump there. Gen2 have a tensor for the belt. In which case there is either a pump or a plate there. Not the two threaded holes beside it. If you started the motor.... What do you have as far as a belt? I know nothing of what the cpe motors come with. But oods are you probably need to reuse accessories from old motor.

Edit:read fail. You have the plate there. I don't think anything is hooked up there normally. So plug it up I guess. Or call cpe in the morning.

That hole has oil pressure seeming that it was designed to supply oil to something external, an accessory of some sort but not used? Does just a bolt go there, or can a sensor go there?

Also, the tensioner is at the bottom of the engine. This is behind the idler pulley located on the upper end of the engine. Under the engine hoist hook.

This is the hoist to the left of the intake manifold correct?

Yes it is. The one towards the front of the car, passenger side. Right beside the intake manifold.

Look for the shop manual on the site. I'm on Tapatalk and can't see if your brown or not. If your brown and just swapped a motor then wtf. I would imagine it's plugged tho. Anyways its late. Best of luck. Get the manual or call cpe.

I don't understand what you mean by if I am brown or not? I am new to this forum. When we got the engine, it was not plugged. That's why we are concerned. We want to know what should or can go there so we stop gushing oil.

Appreciate the advice though. We will look for the manual.

edit: went and looked, my gen 1 has the power steering pump in front of that hole, but the hole is plugged with a bolt.
