Hey everyone!
Talk has been built up to create a state-wide meet for the great state of Texas . . . so here it goes!
We need your help to make this a success so there will be more to come year after year! This will be a weekend meet full of fun and activities. It will all be worth while, so participation is a must to make this meet a blast! Yes, for some of the students school may have already started for the planned date. But with it being the first week of classes, homework/tests should not yet be to much of an issue!! (Trust me, I'm a super nerd when it comes to this :p )
Below is a rough schedule of the events taking place:

Saturday, August 29, 2009:

10:00AM - 3:30PM - Float the River (120 S Liberty Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130)*
6:00PM - 10:00PM - Dinner and raffle followed by meet (1287 Gruene Rd. New Braunfels, TX 78130)**

Sunday, August 30, 2009:

8:00AM - 10:00AM - Breakfast (11613 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78250)***
10:00AM - ??? - Cruise of the Three Sisters****


* = Corner Tubes in New Braunfels offers group discounts for 10-20 $1.00 off tube rentals and $2.00 off for groups of 21+. Prices are $10.00 (bottomless tube) and $12.00 (tube w/ bottom) The address is 120 S Liberty Ave, New Braunfels, TX. The parking lot they have is very small. . .therefore parking is available across the street and it is plentiful. Only downside is it is $5.00 iirc.

** = Dinner will be at the Gristmill in Gruene, Texas. It is right outside of New Braufels where we will have finished floating the river. The address is 1287 Gruene Rd. New Braunfels, TX. Because we will be eating at a restaurant it makes it critically important we know if you are going to show to the meet or now. There will be reservations made at the restaurant, and speaking as a waitress/bartender for 2 years, reservations are serious. lol. You don't show up with more or less then the party you plan for. There will be a raffle and there are some great prizes lined up for this!! Money for tickets will be collected Saturday all day before dinner. The raffle will be held at the end of dinner. Tickets will be priced at $5 a pop. Raffle items are a Cobb SRI and Cobb springs. **Thanks to Cobb and Brandon for providing the prizes!!**

*** = We will meet at 8:00 AM on Sunday at IHOP (11613 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78250). It is right next to highway 16 which we will take out to the Three Sisters. At breakfast, walkie talkies will be issued (from those that are generous to bring and share) We will also discuss rules, and if there is a big enough turn out break everyone into groups. It is important that everyone show up for breakfast. We can all cruise out together and stay as a group! Also, that way everyone is informed of exactly how the cruise will work! :D

**** = Here is a link of the route we will be driving: Three Sisters Start out on 16 leaving SA, take 337 west to Leakey. Go north on 336 to 41, follow 41 west to 335, go south 335 to Barksdale. Take 55 from Barksdale to Camp Wood, get back on to 337, and head back East. :)

You are reading it right, but you're interpreting it incorrectly. It's a loop, so don't double the mileage. Even if it was 360 miles, it would be the best 6 hours of driving of your life.

i have been looking into a shortened route for the cruise for those interested in a cruise, but one not quite so long

Ghey. I thought this meet was supposed to be focused around driving 3 Sisters. If people don't want to drive "that far" let them go to Lime Creek Rd.

well, regardless, there are people who are not all that excited for the long cruise (whether they just don't feel like it, had/have a long drive to SA and back, etc), so we needed to look into an alternate.

well it's a hell of a time to plan an alternate route.

you're basically separating the meet into 2 meets. people have known for a while now how long the cruise is.

is there a significant amount of people not interested in doing the entire cruise?
