So I said fuck the bull shit getting new rods and pistion, ordering them Monday. There MIGHT be a chance I can still make it if we work our little booties off. i have been looking into a shortened route for the cruise for those interested in a cruise, but one not quite so long

Ghey. I thought this meet was supposed to be focused around driving 3 Sisters. If people don't want to drive "that far" let them go to Lime Creek Rd.

well, regardless, there are people who are not all that excited for the long cruise (whether they just don't feel like it, had/have a long drive to SA and back, etc), so we needed to look into an alternate.

well it's a hell of a time to plan an alternate route.

you're basically separating the meet into 2 meets. people have known for a while now how long the cruise is.

is there a significant amount of people not interested in doing the entire cruise?

The only real way to shorten the cruise is to not do the 3 Sisters at all. It's a loop in BFE, trying to only do 1 or 2 of the three really isn't much of an option. I'm still confused where this is coming from. For the better part of 3 months now, this meet was organized with a heavy emphasis on the cruise. The 3 Sisters has been the only constant throughout the planning of the meet. And with a week to go, now we need to find an alternate?

i hit 13000 miles yesterday in my car. i cant go anymore, too much driving.

yeah like brandon said there is no good way to shorten the drive-- half of the driving is just driving out there.

i dont know, theres been discussion on the cruise being too long for those guys who have to still drive many hours to get home sunday before work the next morning etc. so, instead of them just not going on the cruise at all, why not just drive the 160 mile round trip out there and back or something (but I see that as kind of pointless, why drive all the way out to 3 sisters, then turn around and come back). I live in SA so it's not bad for me, but I can understand those not too excited about it who have to drive all the way back to dallas or houston right after. just looking to throw alternatives out there for those who might be interested-- I know for some of you guys this is centered around the cruise, but for others it's not, and they are mainly here to hang out, relax and talk about cars and whatever else.

that being said i definitely plan to go on the entire cruise..

I just rolled over 76,000 miles and I am starting to have to replace belts, hoses, and a/c parts so I dont wanna hear about it.

Having said that, I am all about the cruise, but im not going to be driving it at 100mph like some of you guys seem to be talking about. I definitely plan on cruising it and taking pics along the way etc.

I think it would be cool for the houston speeds to all leave at the same time ... would be kind of cool to have 20 speeds going down I-10 past people . . I dont know .. just a though

Acutally when I just get deals and pay my buddy to paints them I make 100+ per hour. Like couple weeks I walked 6:00-7:45 after getting off work and got 17 deals for a total $360 and my buddy painted them the next day and we split it. so $180 for hour and half

me and my buddy are still trying to figure out our method.
we found that knocking on doors with some paint asking spontaneously for money didn't go over well.
we're gonna make signs, leave envelopes...etc...

Bro thats in your mind trust me. Write down when you start and when you stop and you will see cause some times youll walk for 30-45 minutes and get only 3 deals and youll feel like man this sucks ive been walking for a long time but in reality you only walked for 30 minutes. Im telling u thats how it is if you write it down it forces you see how much your really making.

Also the flyers-envelops on the door work but they you will make alot lot less money. Also if you and your buddy walk the same streets youl end up making less... still make money just not as much.

This is a cruise, not a race. Anyone going on the cruise with that mentality will probably have their car towed home. While there are some stretches where someone could go that fast, there are plenty of areas where going that fast "safely" just isn't possible and will result in accidents.
