It is 3 hours from when you get off the plane. I always seem to have the worst luck with rental places and the person behind the counter trying to sell me everything from insurance to a piece of ass before I can get out there.

@CorkSport Garden State Parkway to NY thruway is the easiest and fastest route to OCC

I will give that a shot.

Oh boy...that's a rough drive as far as traffic goes. so the best route would be 678(Van wyck) to 95 west(cross bronx) to 87 north. What time are you getting into ny and what day?

KrisT_325 03-23-2012 09:06 AM

The JBR crew is driving 2 cars 13+ hrs to OCC. I think we may have the longest commute.

makjur 03-28-2012 07:01 PM

I'll be going, but not sure if I should be spending the 5$
Will this have me parking in a spot where people will be scoffing at my car for being stock?

I'm a meet nub...
This is what I'm referring to, from here:
http://meetregistration.com/occ/

Unfortunately, due to operating costs, we are forced to charge a $5.00 fee which will be collected at the gate for Mazda Drivers who wish to park their Mazda at the meet. Included with the parking fee will be a goodie bag and 5 raffle tickets. There is no fee for spectators attending the meet.

If my mod list was as extensive as yours I wouldnt even ask

oakley990099 03-28-2012 11:27 PM

yeah i read that.. so what? first of all you have a mazda and your at the meet which is cool in my book and probably everyone else's. just because you don't have mods doesn't mean we are going to think less of you haha. Its an "all mazda" meet after all ... We aren't like the VW owners at Waterfest where they flipped a honda that came. (or so I've heard)

And if the $5 is what you really care about-- no comment. Really $5.00 hahaha save your lunch money for one day and you'll be able to afford it!! Or if your that cheap and that scared of people looking at your car= don't bring it and come just to look for FREE; yes FREEEEEEEEEEE

Just making sure i shouldnt be comong as a "spectator" since i will be leaving my car and "spectating".

My social inneptitude is already apparent, cant wait to show my people skills off
=\

Looks like ill be waiting another month to order an AP and internals due to the entrance fee :(

dubunderpar 03-29-2012 05:00 AM

My comment was about paying 5 bucks not about no mods.

In the 5 years I've been doing this meet I can GUARANTEE that you will NOT be the only stock mazda there. $5 will get you 5 raffle tickets, the list of sponsors are companies that are donating prizes for this raffle. You also get to select which prizes you want to be entered to win. This is a good place for you to start looking for ideas for future mods AND even better actually talk to the vendors of these products so you can base your decision on buying actually comparing the products together. The biggest names for this platform will be there. @www.cp-e.com, @Cobb Tuning, @CorkSport, @jbarone. This is NOT a car show this is a car MEET. I do this because I love my mazda and I want to get to meet the people I would normally not get to talk to outside of the message boards. The real question is why wouldn't you pay the $5?

doubleflusher 03-29-2012 08:45 AM

<3 Storm

Domino81 03-29-2012 09:26 AM

For a badass meet I'll be happy to pay the $5. I'll even garnish the bill with pubic hair at no extra cost.

8.5MS3 03-29-2012 09:48 AM

im stock and im coming....BT's and mods are for people with small weenies

Grumpyjap 03-29-2012 09:50 AM

If your car is stock and you pay the $5 to park with everyone else, when people walk around looking at cars they don't stop at cars that are stock point, laugh and make fun of you, they'll just walk passed it and onto the next car.

kritz 03-29-2012 09:59 AM

If you bring an extra $10 I might have a leftover one of these, I printed a few extras. No promises but I might have.

http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...-shirt-106258/

Guerra88 03-29-2012 10:11 AM

Totally agreed with @Grumpyjap, $5 is really cheap just to see all the cars there and to see the OCC stuff. Not to mention the raffles and the ability to talk with all of these great vendors.
And I'm getting my whole car tinted from tintmasters, for the discount they have, I'm saving way more than $5 :headbang:
Grumpyjap is the man for putting this meet together.

Domino81 03-29-2012 11:00 AM

I have an announcement:

I have mods so I wanted to see if what Mike said was true, and it's true! :( I have a tiny penis.

Good thing I have mods, huh?
