I know I'm not the only one, so I will as well speak for others asking questions as well. Also I have no issue being an asshole.

So the track said we are paying on a per run basis. At least a track official did to me. Most of us probably got 3-4 runs in. I know some money went to pizza...but WTF, I paid 80 bucks for four passes?

So I need enlightened. Because it also seems that we could have paid for test and tune at the gate and saved some money.

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to get the facts of what went down. If some sort of mistake was made ok cool, we should probably get with the track and see what they can do to accommodate us. Because if the track got all the money, we got ripped.

I know it takes a lot of work to organize this shit, but lets reflect to get a better experience for the future.

Mike@Stratified 04-13-2014 07:46 PM

Awesome event and big thanks for @The Panda; (and I know @MissVitesse6; played a big role too) and whoever else gave their time and effort to making this happen. Glad to meet a lot of new (to me) people and see some old friends as well. It was nice to be at a NATOR event where I am not the old guy for once; thanks @kritz; for coming down

jeopardy98 04-13-2014 07:59 PM

I love being a part of this community but meets like this really emphasize that point. Thank you to all of the organizers and the vendors that took time out of their weekends to travel down and support us all. I can't wait for next year already!

darkstar5440 04-13-2014 08:16 PM

I agree $80 is kind of steep, but I got 5 passes in....how many more times you really wanna run your car? I had a blast today, money well spent IMO

Hey guys and gals, we had a great time at our first of hopefully many ENM's. As always, it was a pleasure meeting all of you that support JBR. Thanks for having us and we'll hopefully see you all again next year.

Thanks,
JBR

eagle20g 04-13-2014 08:37 PM

For 80 we shouldve had right to the track n for spending 80 we did not get those rights when we could've spent 35. Knowning we help raise benefits for Nator n all is great n im all about that but we Shouldve gotten track rights n I think I'm not the only one that feels this way. But even tho I felt a little disappointed I still had a blast n met a lot of great people and learned a lot. I feel the organization of this event could've have been better, I don't expect perfection but coming in at around 11 n rush to get everything going turned a huge cluster fuck! Door prizes were also a disaster! Just my feedback n let's hope for better organization next year.

Good stuff.
I wish I could make it to one of the Epic Nator Meets, but my job doesn't have vacation time. Lame, I know. But that's the price I pay for makeing stupid mistakes financially.

Maybe next year I can join in the shenanigans.

09Speed3Z 04-13-2014 09:54 PM

Just walked in the door after leaving the track at about 5:40.

Sat in I95 traffic because apparently the concept of an EZPass is lost in translation amongst the great citizens of the northern Baltimore area.

To anyone who was left with a sour taste in their mouths about track day, yes, short answer is Mason Dixon gave us quite a good shafting and the organizers will most likely not be scheduling a return there for next year.

Additionally, there were about 3-5 people who organized this entire weekend...those people deserve a lot of respect as organizing something this large is no easy task. Ask anyone who's organized a simple dyno day or has done a t-shirt Group Buy can tell you that.

Personally, and the tl;dr stuff starts here, I could care less where we go. We could sit around a campfire and sing kumbaya and the weekend would still be one of the better ones on the calendar. It shouldnt be about who puts down what on the dyno or who runs what at the track, not that I'm taking ANYTHING away from anyones accomplishments in either of those areas, its about the people you surround yourself with at these events and the people you get to welcome into our little segment of the tuner market.

I met a ton of new guys (and gals) this year and I got to catch up with people that I haven't seen since last years meet....short of asking "Hows the car runnin'?" I don't think I talked about it with one person, and I don't care to because it ain't about the car, its about the person who stomps on the loud pedal.

Cheers, and hope to see you all at Epic Meet 2015,

Loud One.

I thoroughly enjoyed spending $80 to rape that track.

Thanks to all the organizers for setting up the meet this year. I know it's not easy.

Voltron 04-13-2014 10:47 PM

Looks like a few folks need to remove some worlds fastest shit off their sigs.

Thanks for having this, and for all the new faces i met, you people are cool as fuck.

Now that ive gotten a few hours of sleep.....

Thanks again for a great weekend. What started off as a fucked up weekend for me and a few of us heading down ended up being a blast, and i got to mend some broken friendships in a way.
Some of you heard that Dave, Drew, and I all ended up having to tow our cars down to MD after all of us broke down. But friends came thru for parts that were needed to get us up and running.

I saw some people whom i have not spoken to since the fallout, and was able to talk to them and say hello and wish them luck. I saw people who have had beef, help each other when cars went down.
This was the old Nator i used to know.

So again Shay and Tommy, thanks again for everything, you guys put together a great weekend.

KusteLokal 04-14-2014 06:03 AM

A huge thanks to @The Panda; and @MissVitesse6; and who ever else planned this weekend. Also thanks to @Tommy; for negotiating the hotel rate this year, though I doubt they will want us again.

This was the third year and I am amazed at how big this meet has gotten in just 3 years. This year was the first that we had a large showing from Florida.

These meets are always a great chance to put faces to names that you don't see that often.

Even though some fail happened, the community came together to help each other out. Can't wait to until next years meet.

All I have to say is Epicness happened! These events come to few in number and don't last long enough! Family comes together in a time of need as was and is being proven as we speak, yesterday at the track Daniel aka marinemazda from Toronto bent some valves. With no hesitation at all there were more people than could fit under his hood, Pablo, Raquel, Tommy, Paul,Dave, Nishan, Rob were working as a unit to diagnose and come up with a plan of action to repair his car. There was no division only family or more specifically fraternity. The car was towed to Tommy's house and disassembled and now the head is in Dave Woods car along with Tommy being driven to Speed Performance to set the valve clearances set all after finishing up at 4:30 a.m. So you ask what is Nator this is Nator.

Yes records were set and laughs were had, but this is what is it about family! Thanks to all the organizers they did a great job and carried the torch with class, next year Va and N.C./S.C. will be handed the torch to carry on the tradition of Nator.

Daniel says (because no Murican data plan) Thanks so much for all the help and he will be giving handies or a taint tickle with his beard.

I'm sorry if u guys fell ripped off by the events of this weekend.... But if u only got 4 passes that's on you Garth and plenty others got several passes towards the end when we was hot aping... If you feel you can do better volunteer. To be lead next and see all the fun.. But you obviously missed the point of the weekend. And I took it up with the owner of the track during the day I did not leave the track until 8pm because I was expressing my disappointment in their management as it was booked for just us and sbra not bike and test and tune...

I'm going to express my concerns in here for those of you who I'm not connected with on FB. We got long d!cked with the track rental. We know this. It was already discussed that we'd spend the next track day at a different track. If you're going to complain about something that the organizers had no control over, what good does it do to complain to them? It makes you seem insensitive, selfish and a d0uche. Feel free to send a letter with your concerns to the track owners.

Mailing Address:

I'm sure they'd love to receive your mail. Let us know how they reply.

$0 from the received money went into any personal pocket from NATOR. It all went directly to snacks, drinks, the big dinner, the track, etc. Yes, things could have went a little smoother, but that's what happens when you have outside parties involved. Tommy, Shay, and the rest of the organizers did a fantastic job and this was the most fun I've ever had at one of these events. I met more people this weekend that I was excited about meeting than ever before. I even left my bed at 12:30am just to drive to Tommys house so I could meet the people that arrived on Thursday and drink with them before work on Friday morning. I am stoked to see how many people dropped everything (whether it be tools, their racing helmets or beef between parties) to help out the people that needed it. I'm glad I could also help out a few lesser experienced people with their tracking and see times go down and track speeds go up.

TL;DR What Zach said. We couldve spent the weekend on the hotel patio the entire time and I still wouldve had the time of my life. The dyno day, track day and car stuff in general just made it that much better.

Complaining does no good unless it's to the right people. If you don't like what you got, volunteer next time!

Mike@Stratified 04-14-2014 08:07 AM

Damn, I missed the hot aping!

This, like I said before, after thinking long and hard about this entire situation because Tommy and I were disappointed with what happened at the track yesterday as well as the not so kind words said about how the event was organized. If you were truly disappointed at how it was handled it would be best to private message the organizer them self instead of trying to bash them in public in my opinion. It just seems a lot more respectful after everything they put into pulling this off (which is no easy task) I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to make everyone happy, there will always be a few who feel they got jipped or ripped off. For the most part this weekend went smoothly, the hotel was fantastic, the dyno day was great, dinner was incredible. The track completely screwed us as they had on the calender that the only two rentals would be us and the southern bracket racing. To our knowledge the entire time leading up the the track event, no one else would be on the track. Clearly that was not the case and we had no control over that. Yes the raffle was not ideal but it worked. It wasn't easy trying to get everyone's attention over the noise from the track as well as the mingling among the crowd. I feel as this entire weekend was successful, I saw NATOR be reborn to what it once was. I saw groups that had major beef throw that aside to help a fellow member when their car went down regardless of that members association. I saw people reunite with family as well as add new faces to their family. There were drunken shenanigans as well as stories being told in the parking lot of the hotel. There was fail and there was success. It was an incredible weekend in my opinion. It was no easy task taking on such a large event and like Tommy said please be our guest to take over one year if you weren't happy with the way it was put together. Even through all the countless hours Tommy and I put into planning this and all the hours of wanting to pull my hair out trying to get everything perfect, it was entirely worth it. I am sorry to those of you who feel they got jipped or those of you who did not enjoy yourself.

Again like Tommy said, him and I stayed until late and everyone was gone so we could personally talk to the owners again and express our disappointment with the way things were handled yesterday. There isn't much more to say other than I very much enjoyed seeing everyone, meeting people, and putting faces to forum names. To me, this weekend screamed NATOR. We opened our house to multiple people as they traveled in from all over, as we have done every year since this event was born. We had an incredible time and I can not express that enough. I love you crazy people.

First I just wanna say thanks to everyone who organized, planned, and contributed even the smallest bit to this event. This being my first real NATOR event I have to say you really see what its all about by attending these events it was awesome to meet people and put faces to names and see all the hard work people put into their lo e/hate relationship with these cars. I was extremely dissapointed seeing that my turbo blew two days before we were scheduled to leave so after all the hard work getti ng my car ready and buying parts I couldn't even drive it doen to the biggest event of the year. That being said I hopped in the car wit someone ekse and still came and nevrr once thought about my car. This was a ton of fun and can't wait to see what I can come back with next year!
