Hey guys,
I know it's far out, but I figured I'd start this for you. A lot of you have been asking me if there is going to be a discounted rate for the Hilton next door. Right now I'm not sure and I do not have as much influence as I used to because I no longer work for OCC. What I think you guys should do is pool together and block off some rooms at a discounted rate. If you can get 10 rooms secured you can get a really good rate, don't quote me, but somewhere around the $130 range as opposed to the regular $190 rate. With this thread it should be easier for youg uys to communicate and figure out who's definitely going to get a room/how many rooms you can block off with certainty.
Military and AAA discounts are also available

Ok so i just called Hilton to see what the rates are.

They advised $169 for a base suite, and $189 for a king or some shit. They said as of now, they have 2 in house weddings planned for that weekend, so there's no rate discounts (AAA, etc) that they plan to offer. This also means they're filling up a little quicker than normal for people booking ahead for the weddings.

Good thing though is they said we have the option to setup a room block, and then negotiate the rate for the rooms, so all is not lost :smashfreakB:. I asked if rates would be better closer to the date, but she said if anything availability isn't guaranteed, and we could prolly get a solid rate booking far in the future.

She also said we wouldn't have to pay up front for the rooms, but would be charged a cancellation fee if they hold the rooms and people back out.

You can stay at the flea bag hotel we stayed at around the corner about a mile away. Forget the name, but there are plenty of noisy people and always a few crumbs left at the continental breakfast!

Quick note on the rooms, the rate is the same for 1 or 2 beds, and beds typically are queens. It also goes by rooms booked, not people obviously, so right now we have 6 people, but most likely 4 rooms if we're counting couples.

With that said idk if it makes more sense to have like 2-3 couples in maybe 3-4 rooms and pay the rate for a large room, but then there's no hotel smashing going down lol, or try to get 10+ rooms with a couple in each and try to get the best multi room discount possible. Either way we'll negotiate and pick the lowest i guess

Also no pymt up front, but someone will need to put up a card to book the rooms (i'll volunteer). There's a $75 cancellation fee if notice isn't given within 24 hrs of the reservation, so if you're not gonna make it; say that up front please, not the day of lol...also when we get there they'll take individual cards for each of us, and your tab will e put on that

just to be sure, is this for the night before the meet or the night of the meet? i plan on going down the day before and staying, and probably driving back home after the meets over.

Yes, we're going for a group rate discount. Basically there's no other discounts that can be used because of the other events going on this weekend, so the only discount we can go for is as a group. And yes, your hilton points can still be used specifically for your room, i just called and confirmed this.

Also for beds, the people listed below, these are all one bed rooms. The rate is the same for 2, so if you specifically need 2 beds, please say this up front, or you'll be at the mercy of availability if you change this at the time of booking. Here's the updated list though:

Goal is no more than $130 lol.....yes, that is a good $40 off what they're asking right now, but fuck it if there's like 20 of us in this one particular booking; that's legit close to $3000 they're bringing in, off of ONLY us, and this isn't factoring concessions and other shit of the sort. That rate indeed WILL be coming down, $169 with no applicable discounts because of a wedding sounds like a bunch of shit, more like greedy sob's in the back office taking everyone they can for a ride that weekend

Yes, that's the plan. Figure the more the merrier. Want to try to throw as many reservations in this as we can, so we actually have a shot at making a legitimate case for a better rate, as in $40 bucks off every room. I don't know how many more we can add, or what the magic number will be, but from the looks of this, we should have a pretty strong leg for negotiations. Figure let's wait it out a little longer, til like Monday, 2/11 though, and take what we have to the negotiation table then. That'll give some peeps time to answer, add a few more names, maybe, and we still have time to add some more names to aid in negotiations if necessary

The girl at the desk is pretty cool though, might have to take care of her in the back when we get down there :bananadoggywow: hahaha, customer service has been excellent. Everytime I call she's like "You setting it up today?".....and I'm like,

I've stayed at a few different ones and they always seem to hire the nice people. Whenever I go somewhere I try to make sure there is a hilton around so I can stay there and not anywhere else.

Apparently the front desk cannot schedule more than 9 rooms, so we specifically need to speak with the sales dept. Rep's name is Ashley, but i caught her on break, so was unable to speak with her before she left. She's in at 830 tomorrow, so i'll be calling while i'm getting my oil changed.

I swear sometimes I underestimate myself. The goal was $130 per room, so how does $129 sound? I don't muther fuck around lol...i need to create a rooming list, meaning names, contact numbers, what sort of beds you want (king, queen, etc) and will need to send it to her in the near future. She's sending me the contract tonight, so i hope to have this booked by Friday

Sales agent advised they're apparently not supposed to assign rooms for multiple people without a bed for each party. I explained the situation to her, so she advised to list the beds down and what happens with them when we get there is up to you guys lol. Doesn't change the rate either way. Ran into the same issue with Fink and the chair/cot lol....
