I've gotta say, one of the best benefits of going VIP was real estate- more of it and a better location. If I'm able to attend next year I'll get the same again. That said, the maniac level was a somewhat overpriced for the return. $150 to park by the door, get an extra bag full of brochures for stuff I don't want & a T-shirt... The passport thing didn't even get punched for most of the stuff, often not even looked at. There were, what, less than a dozen VIP folks? Could've let em skip to the front of the line to get into the warehouse after the picture taking maybe, or an extra shirt, maybe actual swag in the swag bag.... hmmm, guess the shiny has started to wear off... :) Don't care, still gonna go next year, wife is already talking about the next vacation & the weather was perfect. And I'd get VIP again too. |
yeah, i was disappointed with the gift bag (i hate that other word) it was mostly brochures. I was really glad to help out the humane society (or whatever the equivalent was up there) That's about the only thing i'm ready to donate to. save the doggies! |
Agreed. Bag was kinda lame. Glad I didn't go with the maniac package after all. BUT. They did raffle off some good stuff. I think if they cut out some of the raffle stuff for more shit in the bags it would've been better. |
Dude, i was like WTF! I got the similar bad at the JMOC Meet & Eat. I think the only difference was more ads for SU. Was expecting more, but heh, my kid has a rubber bracelet now, and my air compressor another Turbosmart sticker. Also scored a pile of Episode M stickers from the booth for the free swag punch on the passport. All in all, I think they will only improve. They have a year. I am sure Heath @MazdaMovement is still trying to recover though! |
Shit was in a warehouse? Interesting. |
Yeah, gotta say for a first run it went pretty damn smoothly! I'm looking forward to the next one for sure Curious tho: when calling for more folks to come hit the dyno, they kept asking for Speed6's too.... The guys running the dyno looked at me like I was on drugs when I mentioned it was a shame it didn't have another set of rollers... Wonder if they knew? Woulda been fun to see somebody pull up there with a 6.... :) |

9 Attachment(s) A bit that I captured. One pic with all the cars with their hoods open,(nothing to do with EpisodeM) was Autocross day Sunday in grand bay, AL. Yes, we are die hard for it. So mush so, drove from Orlando to Pensacola saturday night after the event and woke Sunday to drive the shit out of some Auto cross'n. T'was ok with me. Out of forty drivers me and @beachshoer placed 4th and 5th. Whuts up! Oh and Inside the impressive hotel. It was simple, but we loved the internal courtyard. Will visit again. and I'll hand out the damn name tags myself next year. Pissed me off to no end. |

Looks like VTAK just kicked in y0. |
That little MX-5 was dope. I bet it's a blast to drive. |
Little late to the party lol. I was there. Wore a gray beachside auto repair shirt. My car was the old white protege in the VIP section. Dyno'd before most people got there. 248whp and 259wtq |

I see that, good meeting you too. I'll need to figure out a day we can get our fenders rolled |
I attended as well and saw a bunch of sick cars! You all turned out in force! Super jealous of the white Speed6 in the back corner by the merchandise. It was one of my favorite rides there. I thought alot more people would have showed up but it was still a good event for the 1st time. My biggest complaint was the indoor lighting. It made for extremely difficult photo taking unless you had a tripod which I didn't have. That Mazda 6 isn't a V6 btw. I talked to him and he has the 2.5L as well as me(preparing for inc flaming). My 2.5L hatch dyno'd way higher than his (172whp/172wtq) with the only difference being I have a header. Both of us are still wicked slow though compared to the speed that put down the 400+ numbers. Here are some pics myself and my buddy took. Feel free to download any of them from photobucket if you deem them worthy. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...SC00024ARW.jpg |
