Calling out SBMS316! JBR Sponsorship Request Granted! @SBMS316; Your sponsorship has been granted! Welcome to the team! For those that are looking for a sponsorship, below is the letter we received from Patrick requesting one of the coveted sponsorship positions here at JBR. This is the type of person we're looking for so if you think you have what it takes to be a member of our team, then send your request letter to jamesbaroneracing@gmail.com. We have one west coast position currently available and more positions will become available next year. 20131007 Letter for James Barone Racing Sponsorship Dear Mr. James Barone, My name is Patrick. I am an E4 (Corporal) in the United Sates Marine Corps. I have been active in the Marine Corps for 5 years now. My occupation is (6541) Aviation Ordnance and Maintenance technician. Over the past 5 years as an Ordnanceman I have gained much experience and many qualifications that involves inspecting, maintaining, and approving gear as well as ordnance that can cost anywhere from 10 to 500 Thousand dollars. Within my job I hold the billets of CDI, TL, and QASO. My entire job revolves around quality assurance and making sure that every piece of gear and ordnance I oversee is in its best conditions and is built and maintained in accordance with the Aviation Publications of Ordnance. If I do not take my job seriously, it could cost my job, career, and worst of all, A LIFE. Prior to the joining the Marines I worked privately as a Car Audio Installation Technician and a journeyman Plumber in the Boston Plumbers union. But growing up, I’ve always been a huge car enthusiast. I never got far as an owner of the cars in my dreams as I grew up in the lower end of town in South Boston, MA, but after getting multiple jobs and saving my own money I took on a few late model restorations of Foxbody Mustangs. My last project being 1989 LX Convertible with a mod list that didn’t fit my wallet at all! Thanks to the Marine Corps they have patched up that huge burning hole in my wallet. The most current, ongoing project and daily driver is my own Black 2007 Generation 1 Mazdaspeed 3. My success and financial planning in the recent past has allowed me to have this car as my OWN and not in a banks debt! I came across this car while I was in Afghanistan. I was in the market for a JDM style vehicle because I had never wandered into that territory before. I wanted to hit the ground running when I pulled the trigger on a vehicle. Building cars and being an automotive mechanic has always been my hobby and passion I just never had the funds to act on it. This deployment was going to change that. I received an email from my father in-law about a Hatchback “mazda3” he found on base. As soon as I sent the cash to my wife’s bank account I had it that following week. I knew the car was nothing crazy but I had online shopping carts of parts for this car that were going to make this car QUICK! Just before I pulled the trigger on these parts I received new pictures from my wife of the car and noticed it said “Mazdaspeed3”. After doing my research and finding mazdaspeedforums.org I knew that I landed myself an awesome car and a whole new parts inventory came to light. After researching and researching through mazdaspeedforums.org, narrowing down distributors and manufacturers I came across James Barone Racing with nothing but phenomenal reviews. From the history it looks like it was a hard road but a very successful one. That is when I contacted you on a full inventory of parts to see if they were in stock. Not only was your reply quick but you also went out of your way to offer me a military discount without me even requesting it. JBR had made me a forever customer after all the support JBR gave me while deployed and all the support you give the Men and Woman of the U.S. Armed Services! Enough with my blabbering! James, I would like to be a sponsored driver for James Barone Racing. If I were selected to be a sponsored driver for your business, that itself would be amazing and a complete honor. Your business is one of a kind and your ongoing support for the platforms you support and the people that make it up is beyond remarkable! You are always there to lend a hand and help people out. Your presence in charities as well just goes to show that James Barone Racing is about the PEOPLE and not about themselves! I have not been around the mazdaspeed scene for long but I have seen enough from James Barone Racing that it makes myself want to be a part of such a successful and always growing business. I want to HELP in making James Barone Racing grow and succeed every day in every aspect that I can. I feel that can do that well for you! If I were to be a sponsored driver for James Barone Racing I will be a James Barone Racing database. I already know most specs on many of the parts that you produce and manufacture, but I will be a walking book on James Barone Racing Parts. Not just for the Mazdaspeed 3 & 6 community but for all the other communities as well. I will read and review everything that is put out or in front of me by JBR. If JBR needs a product to be tested and reviewed prior to mass production I feel that I can succeed well at it. My current job as a CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) is to inspect many different pieces of gear and it’s operations, bring up changes if they need to be addressed and make sure that the product is safe and functional for final delivery to squadrons. Being that I am in the Military, I am always traveling bringing my speed with me everywhere that I go. East, West, North and South. I am always going to new places and can spread word of James Barone Racing. Essentially I am a driving advertisement for James Barone Racing as well. I am always driving up and down the east coast between going on leave to MA, visiting my wife’s parents in NC, or going to a conference in VA. Hell I already have the JBR sticker on my back window! I will help JBR advertise in every way that I can whether it comes to stopping someone on the street to talk with them about modding with JBR, throwing a JBR business card under a windshield wiper, or plastering JBR and it’s awesome reviews on the social media which we all know is one of the leading sources of advertisement in todays world. I have become a very active Member of the NATOR community in both NATOR New England and NATOR NC/SC. I think my word about your business will give more of an effect on people if I were to be a sponsored driver and not just a customer. My knowledge of the mazdaspeed platform grows every single day because there is always something new to learn. I am no expert on the platform but I am confident in everything I do and I plan on becoming an expert. Everything I learn is never forgotten. Being a car enthusiast and having a passion for it helps me absorb everything like a sponge. All of the billets I hold in the Marine Corps can take Upwards of 3 years to achieve. I achieved all of those billets in 1 year. You will not be disappointed in me, I can promise that! I am not requesting anything out of JBR for the Sponsorship. I just simply want to help the best business in the game become better and continuously grow! I am here to help and assist James Barone Racing in any way possible any way that I can. Sales, advertisement, and knowledge will be my goal for you. However you want to work things out in regards to the sponsorship please list them down for me. I want to know what you expect and the terms in which you feel our business together should work. I am already a driving “JBR Mobile”. My car being full of James Barone Racing parts to include, JBR -RSB -Boost Tubes -PP ST2 SRI -Solid Shifter Bushings -Counter shift weight -Heavy Cylindrical Knob -Wheel Spacers -RMM, PMM, and TMM I want to make this list larger and add sponsored driver to this list as well! I hope that I came across to you as a responsible and trustworthy candidate for your open sponsorship slot. Just the chance to possibly gain this spot is awesome and the fact that you would consider me for sponsorship! As a customer our business relationship has been great and I think we would make great business partners! Thank you so much for your time and have a great day. Respectfully Sent, Patrick |

shweeeeet! |
Dang. I'd sponsor him too. That was an amazingly professional letter. Nice! |
He'll yeah man congrats. |
Awesome news! Congrats @SBMS316; for getting the sponsorship and Congrats on writing a proper inquiry for sponsorship. So many people ask for sponsorship, but either have a mishmash of different manufacturers on their car or none of the products from the manufacturer that they are trying to gain sponsorship from. Here is a good example of what you should be doing to get sponsorship. BRAND LOYALTY goes a VERY long way. Congrats on the sponsorship and Congrats on gaining a valued member of the JBR team!!! |
Congrats man and what a well-written letter :fest30: |
Bro...you even race Congrats! |
Im sponsored by my wife and my wallet. But I too would love to be sponsored by mista james himself. You lucky... :( sent from my peepee |
@SBMS316; That was the most impressive sponsorship application/request I've ever seen. This gentleman understands what a sponsorship is really supposed to be about. Some of the guys in the crew I used to show with had the mentality of "how much can I get out of who?". Not developing a solid two-way relationship. Congratz on joining an awesome team homie. @jbarone; looks like you picked a great person to represent your stellar company. |
lol @ buying a mazda 3 and THEN finding out it was a MS3 hahahaha congrats man!!! |
Just noticed u have west coast availability hmnnn time to use my penmanship skills and try to get this sponsorship. Id rock all jbr for sure. Mr. James be on the lookout for an email from me soon. @jbarone; |
That was an awesome letter congrats on the sponsorship. |
Wow! This is awesome! First of all, Thank you to @jbarone; for the allowing me to be apart of the JBR Team! I am honored to be apart of it, I truly am! I know they say there are a lot of company "fan boys" but this is not the case. I do own only JBR parts that are on my speed simply because of my research is what made me go that route. This history of James Barone Racing from what I have read was a bumpy road but once paved they have truly taken off and become a awesome and reliable source of parts for the platforms that they support. Every part that I own from James Barone Racing after 5k miles has truly shown the hard work and dedication put into building them. Structure, durability, and craftsmanship is at its finest and I see these parts lasting thousands more miles in the future. (That is until I upgrade some!) James Barone Racing has an awesome future ahead of them and I am honored to be apart of it. It is going to be a fun and exciting ride! I can't wait! Also, Thank you to everyone for the congrats! @Rokusek; I know he lost a great sponsor with you and Vivian, she was a good looking speed! I hope that I can follow and help keep the future bright for James Barone Racing. Maybe he will start making miata parts and you can pick it back up! All and all I couldn't be happier that @jbarone; chose me for sponsorship. -Patrick |
Looks like you made a great selection Jamie! Congrats & best wishes to you both! |
We received several new requests for sponsorship in the past few days. If you are selected you will be notified. Thanks for the submissions! |
