Copious New & Upcoming products from JBR!!

Please read this in its entirety, most questions are answered here.

We’re very excited to bring several new products to the Mazdaspeed platform. (FOR THE MS6 TOO) Here are some pictures and brief descriptions of currently available and soon to be available new products from JBR. Individual threads will be started over the next few days to ask and address any questions you may have.

The return of the 3.0” and 3.5” Aluminum Wide Path!!
We were the first and now we bring you the very best!!

Will be available later this month

Price:
3.0” $275.00 SHIPPED!!
3.5” $285.00 SHIPPED!!
  • Both will include TRU-3” or 3.5” ID Billet MAF housings
  • Both will be available with silicone in Red, Blue, Black and White
  • Both will include T-Bolt Clamps
  • The 3” will be available with Red, Blue, and Black filters
  • The 3.5” will only be available with a black filter
  • Both are designed with OEM mounting brackets
  • Both are available in black wrinkle powder and do not include any rice

Important to points to note…
We incorporated several concerns brought to us by members of the community that have had poor experiences with other aluminum intakes that are currently available on the market.
  • Our new aluminum intakes are fully welded and have no bungs or fittings that can come loose or otherwise end up in your turbo.
  • Our Air straighter is also too big to fit through the MAF housing so, there is no chance for it to end up in your turbo like the pressed in blade style fins.
  • Our MAF housings are designed with OEM style air straighteners that maintain the actual advertised ID, not outdated flow restricting honeycomb that reduces the ID back close to stock. <-----So 3 years ago.

You're a rock star Jamie! Keep up the excellent work!

therapist510 11-13-2014 11:16 AM

Nice list of products! Just bought your ssp and CPE safe seals.

Mauro_Penguin 11-13-2014 11:23 AM

Looking forward to the return of the metal intakes Jamie!

I see you included the gen2 gate guide with the short shifter, but will the gate guide be sold individually later on or will they always be an exclusive combo?

JBR 11-13-2014 11:28 AM

The gate guide for the GEN 2 is exclusive to the shifter. It also won't work with the OEM shifter.

SpeedRebirth 11-13-2014 11:28 AM

Hmm, not a single ms6 product on that list that isn't already out there

So back to my crash bar question. Will you be making one for different sized cores?

That is not what I said. Your shit posts will be deleted.

Tokay444 11-13-2014 11:43 AM

Will there be other crash bars to support bigger than tr8 cores?
How is that a, "shit" post?

mazda-speed-3 11-13-2014 11:45 AM

Can i trade in my jbr 3 inch silicone for the new one? I bought it last month and i didnt install it yet

danmillerok 11-13-2014 11:46 AM

The original Fmic thread stated he was only making it for one intercooler size. Was something said to change that statement or are we just being difficult?

JgamB 11-13-2014 11:46 AM

Lol it was smash your balls in a vise or something to that effect - and it was only referring to the FMIC kits.

I'm ready for my FMIC bar and pipe when you are :You_Rock_Emoticon:

No. The community asked for TR8, I made it for TR8 and TR8L.

Great work JBR! Thanks for continuing to develop on this platform!

blake0521 11-14-2014 11:17 PM

I think it funny Damond motor sports is trying to bash on you for the long product development times when they cant even get you an occ unless you want to wait a month. I would rather buy from someone that puts lots of time and effort into making the best product and keeps it from being forever back ordered then someone that makes a great product but never has it. Your occ was one of my first mods due to the fact that he said he wouldent be able to get me an occ for a month. Glad I went with you guys!

Also just a quick question. Why did you go with silicon piping vs alum? No one really makes piping like that for any platform. The vast majority of kits are alum. Sorry in advance if I shouldent have posted this here. Just wanted to hear the reasoning behind it because I am interested in your piping kit since tread stone turned out to be a flop.

danmillerok 11-14-2014 11:35 PM

I'm on my phone and don't want to skim through 50 pages but there is a rather lengthy and heated discussion regarding the use of silicone vs aluminum. Quite a few opinions and facts thrown around. You can decide where you fall but it's in there.

mrmonk7663 11-15-2014 12:04 AM

This isn't the only platform that has used silicone. For instance, Flyin Miata makes a piping kit that is also almost all silicone.

That looks a lot like a Laguna. Big, heavy, muscle.

Would you like one?

jdmage_mx5 11-15-2014 12:03 PM

I have one small complaint about the two spacers released so far. They both are about 1/8" too thin to accommodate a Devils Own meth holder. Luckily I have a throttle tig that gave me a little extra room.

knocturnal 11-15-2014 01:53 PM

Yes i would like one because i just acquired my DO DVC-30 Meth Kit and i was wondering about the fitment. Seems the guy above is having issues with fitment.

Gr8Speed 11-15-2014 01:56 PM

It is difficult to find one location for a meth bung to fit all of the available fittings on the market. I think that is the issue the other manufacturers ran into. In order to accomodate, they offered more than 1 location and plugs. Plugged holes are more likely to leak than no holes.

Would a spacer that includes a nozzle holder and check valve be something of interest? It would make the task of test fitting much easier.

jdmage_mx5 11-15-2014 02:48 PM

Keep in mind Devils own holders are a little thicker than most. Without the tig, this particular holder does not fit any of the locations with ease hence why I was glad I had a Tig.

That extra small little bit was all I needed to use the DO holder. If some one had asked my opinion for improvements this would probably the only one.

I just don't see why a manufacturer would not test all the popular holders. This would be an obvious problem that could be solved making the product perfect. 1/8" thicker surely isn't that hard to do.

The more you move the TB the further off boost tubes and FMIC piping is. So they probably tried to make it as thin as possible while accommodating holders. 1/8 isn't a big deal but where do you draw the line? Which DO holder do you have?

I'm using the angled 1/8npt holder but if memory serves me right they are all the same thickness. Pretty sure DO is the thickest so making sure it would fit by adding 1/8" more would not cause a train wreck.

What thickness are they using? Looks like 1"?

jdmage_mx5 11-15-2014 04:02 PM

The holder or the spacers?

I never did measure either one but can if I need too. Basically the thickness of the MD plate plus a little more than a JBR tig thickness would have been great.

Now don't get me wrong, having theses plates available are AWESOME! If they were just a hair thicker my install would have been a little easier.

The plate. It looks like theirs is about an inch, but hard to tell from pictures.

mrmonk7663 11-15-2014 08:35 PM

Don't know about the MD spacer but the JMF spacer is like 0.57" thick.

on the 3" intakes - will they require the smaller battery/tray or will they work with stock?

Stock, all that's required is to remove the outer ECU cover.

The 3.5" will require a battery box or relocate the ECU to the fuse box cover.

Well looks like I'm gonna sell the HTP 3.5 intake I just bought and pick up your 3" intake.

@jbarone; what options for intake to turbo couplers are you offering with the aluminum intakes? I know you said a 3.5" would fit with ECU relocation. Does this statement still hold if you are using a BNR S3?

We'll have every coupler size and yes it will fit with the BNR.

You'll be glad you did. I'm very, very pleased with how these intakes look, sound and more importantly, perform.

Again, we aren't in your thread bashing you. You don't need to be in this one.

And HTP intakes are great for big turbo builds... as in you'll have a reason to go big turbo when they launch themselves into your stocker.
