I installed this but only fitted the plate and did not bother removing the tube and fitting plug... What / if any benefit is there from completely removing tube and fitting plug?
I've tried searching but can't find the answer...

If the other end of the tube is open, your egr valve will be exhausting into your engine bay.

It's not open, it's untouched... All I have done is fit the plate between block and tube.
What's the benefit of removing tube and fitting plug?

He installed the plate over the valve opening at the block, but left the pipe attached to the intake manifold without plugging the hole.

Basically, you're gonna have a massive vacuum leak.

KevMS6; You need to install the plug on the intake manifold side. Due to its design, both parts are required for this.

The plate blocks off the egr valve port at the block. The plug blocks the port on the intake manifold.

What you have done is perfectly fine. There is no need to completely remove the tube. Some remove the tube to clean up how it all looks.

Thanks,
Jamie

Installed this on Sunday but didn't use any sealant. Would it really be worth it to go back and add some??

I already ordered an OCC from you, and would like to get this too, but I don't want to have to deal with the code. I won't be fully bolted until next year though.
Oh well, looks like I'll be ditching the Hypertech and getting an AP next year too, along with this block off plate.
