Just finished putting them on, and drove a couple miles. They seem to hold up strong. |
ordered! |
Any of you guys that put these on already, have you noticed any difference in response from your RSB? I'm wondering how much flex there was in the old mounts under travel/load. |

(Other than pitching the car around vigorously after install, I haven't done any formal "testing") |

My brackets have not broken, but they were beginning to bend slightly. So I went to a hardware store, matched up the size of the bolts and got some heavy stainless steel washers to support the brackets. It was kind of a pain, because you can't see how well centered it is. In the end I put all 4 bolts in without the washers, centered the bar, removed one bolt at a time, placed washer and loctite on them, and then torqued them down. Probably overkill but the original ones seemed sort of flimsy.... That and then some fresh grease made it sturdy and responsive again. |
need a sway bar for the speed6 :( |
Had these in my hands yesterday and you can't go wrong! Very excited about this product! Going to Mid-Ohio and test them along with the New RSB |
For those who got a MS3 over 7 years ago and scored the Hotchkis when they came out, these will fit! Hotchkis Sport Suspension Quote:

And now my car is yet another reason why @jbarone; is at the top of this game. I didn't pay attention to this thread and I had my bushings (from one of the older JBR bars - ordered in 2012) fail this weekend. I assumed I could avoid the upgrade and be fine, because I didn't heed the results of the R&D JBR always does. @jbarone; I am NOT bitching, nor citing a fault with your product - this failure was NOT a defect with your design - I drive like a hooligan and the roads here are atrocious. I just wanted to point out how ahead-of-the-curve you guys always are with updated products and I wanted to encourage people who are on the fence about your products versus someone else's that they shouldn't hesitate to go with you. So, everyone: there's a reason every single aftermarket part on my car comes from JBR (except AP and HPFP Internals, which they don't make...yet) TIS |
1 Attachment(s) Just an update, since I was under the car today. Bracket completely shattered, it wasn't a dropped bolt as I originally thought. Upgraded brackets were purchased and installed, car feels great again. As always, nothing wrong with the JBR components, just the sourced brackets which are notoriously weak. 2 Attachment(s) Had a killer clunk from the rear after the horrible winter - finally figured out it was from the RSB so decided to upgrade the bar and couldn't pass up these brackets. For the chunks of material you get that are simple and look well made - the price is right... and should functionally help (a little more of that torsion is going to pull down rather and yank on the rear of the subframe). They were on a couple weeks of "backorder" and then JBR forgot about my order. Once they saw my email asking if they had shipped - they fixed the mistake and sent them & the bar via 2day shipping right away - thanks for looking out. I am initially in the middle setting for the bar and it is a huge improvement in balance compared to stock (as expected). The bit of street testing I could do shows the most improvements after mid-corner and during exit. Entry seems to still be a bit pushy. But... this morning I heard the clunk again... I think from the left rear end link (still stock, 70,000miles)... so I am putting in my order now for JBR's MOOG end links w/ zerk fittings so this setup will last until the car is sold and then long after as long as they are kept greased. When I install these I will definately be moving the bar to the full stiff setting. :unitedstates: |
Wow. I'm a little late to the party here, mostly because I went awol from the forum for a few months. I don't want to jerk my own chain here- but I find myself wonder if this is related to the JBR release or just a coincidence: http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...ml#post2380281 |
Anyone have issues with these brackets? My bar just failed with these brackets. Maybe the brackets are stronger then the bar? Kinda bummed out :/ |

1 Attachment(s) And another pic of it |
That's ugly. What did JBR say when you contacted them? Glad I live in rust free FL, thing looks pretty gnarly! |
It hasent even been on there for a full year. It's only seen snow twice. But some girl picked up and said she will show her boss and see what they will do. I will be shocked if they don't warrenty it. I have heard great things and most of my car is jbr including my front mount and crash bar so I bet they will fix it for me no problem. |
Holy rust. Did it fail as a result of an event (i.e. you nailed a pot hole, or a person) or just under normal driving? |
I am sure you know this, but if your local company modifies it at all, kiss your warranty goodbye man. |
My buddy at work (sell cars for Hyundai) changed my oil for me today while I was selling a car and then came and grabbed me to show me how "loose" my end link was then he realized that the weld failed and that the end link was fine. So thank god it did not fail mid corner or I would have been off the road! Car has never been to a track it is just my dd so I was shocked. Quote:

Good thing brock can't see this. |
We spoke with the customer, and received pictures for us to look over. It's clear that this is result of a manufacturing error. One of 3 welds that secure the arm to the bar was not performed, weakening the connection causing it to break. It's certainly covered under warranty and a new rear bar is being sent to the customer today along with a return label for the defective sway bar so we can inspect it. |
Just got a call from him direct. Fastest response time every! Bar is already in the mail too! He said it looks like a weld defect and that I was the first one that has ever broken one hahaha. Very very impressed with the level of customer service! Thanks again @jabarone; ! |

Is that the guy on Facebook jumping on jbr when he can? Glad a replacement bar is on the way. Great to know jbr stands behind their product Sent from my iPhone using sausage fingers |

If that's the case, I hope his attitude reverses. |
Three welds? How does that work? Two sides and two arms, even numbers... |
