No, I've just decided to deal with it. |
Guys am I missing something? Because this will hit pretty bad.. I have a 2010 and it's on the shortest setting (if i put it on the longest then I don't have this problem) but even so it doesn't seem anyone else has had this problem? http://i.imgur.com/2E8ZOz5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9qAZjhR.jpg |

Dude.... Not to be a dick but it clearly states in the install instructions that 2010 and up models need to trim that piece up to be on the shortest setting. |
The picture shows it to be the ring that holds the shift boot.. (on the instructions) well my bad if it's actually that then. Thank you |
Also try backing it down a tad. It's not meant to be pushed all the way to the top. Back it down a little. You won't notice a difference in shift throw |
Ok done. Everything was trimmed down nicely :) i wonder if its simpler just to swap the piece with a newer model. 2nd question and this is just for ease of mind. I did start to get the same "slop" as the others. It was very tight for about the first week and now its looser (not enough to annoy me but enough to show ah obvious difference. I'm thinking maybe it's the grease I used? I used general purpose YELLOW lithium grease. The man at the hardware store told me it would be fine. Is it actually ok? Or is it starting to break down the plastics because now I'm getting worried! |

The reason for the contact in that area is because the adjuster is not assembled correctly. Please see steps 13 thru 15. |
