Is it just me or the engine is loud as fuck now ? vibration are very low, but the sound level is very high inside the cabin

I am the same way. Vibes aren't that bad, and will decrease alot over time, but there alot of extra noise.

The way it is right now I can almost count the amount of teeth per second that are meshing with the chain on the vvt gear.

hopefully it will settle out.

in the meantime I drive a DTM racecar lol :drive:

edit: Worth mentionning that the stick just glide into each gears like it never did before. Shifting in second super fast isnt an issue anymore.

Installed my trilogy today, wish to christ I had have re-read this thread first. One is soft with torque wrench, fine with normal ratchet.
But the back one is completely f**ked using the specified torque. Can't get the bolt in or out, it is refusing to go up or down. It is as good as it is going to get, but hopefully it not being anywhere near fully tight doesn't f**k anything up...

@jbarone , maybe the instructions need to have the torque recommended changed? Seems rather hit and miss for those bolts for them working or completely shagging them...

Yeah, I would be careful torquing the frame bolts to 70 lbs as the exact same thing happened to me, but it was my front bolt. Seems odd that those two bolts exceed the stock maximum torque spec by more than 20%, while the others are specified on the low end of the stock torque specs, 45 for the nut on the body and 60 for those on the studs on the motor. If I had looked at the manual I would have torqued them down to 50 lbs and not 70. I usually pick the middle of the broad torque specs in that book.

I will lower the torque spec.

Fizzyb 10-12-2013 10:43 AM

Cheers mate, will deff help others in the future I think.

One of mine is fine (can't move with with a ratchet), but the rear is moving both ways (without getting tighter or looser) with a ratchet, my fingers are solidly crossed that it will be enough to hold it, but if anyone has any ideas on how to get it out and how to replace the bit the bolt goes into, it would be appreciated.

Specs updated to 50 ft/lbs.

UPDATE!!!

Figured that their will always be people asking questions about things, so more input the bettera. Done about 1500k's on them thus far (nearly 1000miles for those who prefer those units)

Running the 70d trilogy. First, the build on these things are nuts, most solid looking things I have ever seen, almost a shame to put them in.
First 70k's was pretty nutty vibration and noise, but bang on 70, dropped a lot
Next big drop was around 500k I spose, still had that really cool whine from the tranny but the vibes were dropping, and the car no longer felt "tiring to drive".

The next 1000k's till now and its pretty damn smooth considering solid mounts, at idle you can hear the engine tick, only time I really notice the mount still is 2nd gear doing 2000-3000 rpm (holding around round abouts or whatever).

Overall car noise is more, but its a connected mechanical noise. At a highway cruise it sounds almost stock, and I imagine it will keep on dropping.

Shifting is just a million years ahead of the slop you get from factory, 1-2 shifts are now possible, and 2nd-3rd-4th can be done snap shifts, none of this waiting around BS.

If you can afford the trilogy, go for it, worth absolutely every penny / dollar / euro / bitcoin.

And now we wait for JBR diff mounts :p

I finaly installed my TMM yesterday. dosent add much vibes over the PMM, but like fizzyB said, there is now a nice transmission whine, and I also hear the synchos meshing when changing gear.

jucca 01-10-2014 08:23 AM

Have RMM 80duro, now with 1500miles on it, most of vibration gone specially that one on idle, but in beetwen 2500-3000 rpms are still very noticable, many sounds coming out from dash, windows etc. Wonder if that will be ever gone?
Love how it shifts now, but vibrations don't like much.

Fillups66 01-10-2014 10:10 AM

Anyone run the 80 duro RMM and 70 duro TMM and PMM? What are the vibes like? I have the 80 duro RMM and the vibes are barely noticeable. I'm wondering if its much of a difference going softer on the other two mounts?

norcalcasey 01-13-2014 04:56 PM

I have the 80A PMM, that got me fully bolted and i HAZ big vibes. I would go with the 70a personally

big angry bird 02-26-2014 11:45 AM

so today during lunch i said "fuck it!, let's get mounted"
took me 30min from start to finish by my damn self.

stock pmm bushing was cracked and had a hole at the bottom which looked like it leaked something because the frame was full of filth and residue.

so i started snuggling the pmm and i swear it felt like my car was cinderella and the pmm was the perfect fit. didnt struggle rocking the engine at all.

so then came the big moment. put the key in the ignition, dotted my eyes, and crossed my teeth. turned the car on...immediately i said:

"what the fuck are all these pussies crying about?!?!; this is NOTHING!"
"teeth chatter?!?! seriously?!?!? pfffffffffffffffffffft"

i swear i read numerous threads/posts of people complaining and removing the mount after they "couldnt take it anymore"... bunch of niggas with sensitive vags.

i fucking love this mount and im so glad i got it at 80d, shit feels amazing, throttle response is improved, and i love the little buzz it has. reminds me of when i first put in the rmm.

(side note: i dont have BSD)

edit: would like to point out that i had the RMM for about 5k miles already so the vibes weren't as intense compared to those that went in dry and did all 3 mounts at once.

JBR TMM is next!

sidekick 02-26-2014 06:25 PM

I'm not sure if my TMM is fucked or if my RMM/PMM make my car vibrate so much, but throttle transitions and engine braking are horrible. There's a ridiculous resonance in the cabin and I can hear my fucking timing chain constantly. Lol. But fuck it, becauseracecar.

meelo88 02-26-2014 09:20 PM

I don't have increase vibes really, just hear the TOB when the clutch is out at idle...did NOT do the BSD
