Before too long we will have all of this sorted out with solid numbers as well as bench testing for all to see. We do have 1 extra IM right now to use as the spare to swap in and out.

I think it would be best with knife edging the ports on the head. Recess them further back into the head, open up the main port just like youve done on the manifold, and get the divider as sharp as a razor blade.

Even a blunt but rounded divider would work. The corners are what cause issues from what little i've read.

Sean's been pitching that knife edged head idea for a long time... it'd be awesome to see someone actually do it! I was too chicken

Well this is just the beginning, the people who have the most knowledge please throw ideas out and my brother and i WILL make them happen. If the knife edge is the best solution then we can take that route without a problem. This IM has not even been on the car for 24 hours so we are still tossing different options around to see which we want to go with.

As for flow testing this, ive been told that bench time will be pretty costly, so that might get put on hold for a minute unless any reasonably priced options come up.

So for now, the best comparison we have is simply back to back VD logs with the two setups. May not be the most desired testing but it will do for the time being.

I will knife edge mine and do a test with knifed and none knifed to see the diff just give us a lil more time I didn't think this would blow up as fast as it did.. on the plus side if you dont have haters u have a shit product..lol

This mani will be cheaper than any grimspeed or maperformance but they are namebrand and we are JOE BLOW...lol oh and you can pick your paint color or polished.

The gains i dont see being less than that of just a reg PNP.

Don't knife edge it. Knife edge flows worse than a gentle swept curve. Visualize the leading edge of a jet engine inlet and you'll get the idea of what your port split should look like.

my ported IM wasn't done by GS or anything. All it takes is $40 in good carbide burrs, lube, and flapper wheels to do a good port job. Oh, and patience.

It doesn't cost less than my GS mani.

Back to back VD logs won't provide much info, unless you can get the logs in the exact same conditions.

If the mani flows that much more, a retune will be required to take full advantage of it.

A flow bench, though costly, is the only way to see any difference.

I'd love to see this work. We need more options.

Also, i got some mail today as some of you may have already seen.

I initially ordered my @RaceBuilt manifold on 20 Feb, the whole "situation" happened and at that point i had been waiting about 3 months. I couldnt take it anymore and had a smoking turbo that HAD to be replaced. So i cancelled my order with him and then went directly to CPE to pick up my new fail manifold aka CPE manifold, and we all see how much fail that was. So i returned the CPE mani and contacted RB again since that was legitimately my only other option, and i also noticed that he got all cought back up.

So within a week of me placing my order with him again, he had the manifold made and sent out. I received said manifold today







And we got the lil man started young

So this racebuilt mani right......
Appearance- this manifold is a beautiful piece, solid welds and for the most part its a good piece.
Design- good intentions, poor end result. I am pretty sure that the ewg version of this manifold is nothing less than the regular manifold with an extra runner added to the collector for the wg.

Although I was promised and guaranteed that there would be absolutely no fitment issues or issues with the ewg runner hitting the o2 sensor. The poor placement of the wg runner causes not 1 but 2 issues.

1- THE RUNNER STILL FUCKING HITS THE O2 SENSOR. As I was promised it wouldn't.
2- where the runner meets the collector, the poor placement and design of said runner causes it to be IMPOSSIBLE to get a nut onto the turbo stud on the passenger side, closest to the motor.
And yes, it is actually impossible, not just me not knowing what I'm doing. Trust me.

I would also like to add that the the dumptube he sent me had a male vband flange on it, not a female end as needed.

My car has been down for almost a week now, it has not ran since I attempted to make this paperweight fit in my Fucking car.



I will make another thread with this information for all to see once I get it all sorted out.

I don't know about the O2 sensor but I remember reading that you had to move the manifold out enough to get the nut started and then you have to tighten it a few turns at a time as the manifold seats. Good luck man.

Trust me bro, even with the mani out of the car, you still cannot fit a nut stud combo into that hole, Let alone while its attached to the turbo.. Trust me dude, we tried everything.

Ive already returned the CPE mani, and @RaceBuilt wont answer my calls or texts. Im sure he is busy, but this is a legit problem that NEEDS to be addressed ASAP

So given my current situation, im considering having RB send me a regular manifold without the ewg runner, buying a used IWG hotside from a friend, running IWG until i can afford ATP EWG hotside. I realize this isnt the best of ideas, but at the point i am kind of out of solutions/ options and my car has been sitting for the last 3 weeks.

So my question to the peanut gallery is,

1, Wait it out for EWG mani
2, go the ATP EWG Hotside on regular RB mani?
