So the car has not yet been started up. Unfortunately the maf housing that i ordered from treadstone was the wrong one. Time has been against me this week and there have been a few other hicups along the way this week. Hopefully all will be sorted out today and we can get her fired up before the weekend.

Honestly not entirely sure what's wrong. We buttoned everything up. Double checked. Went to fire it up, eventually she cranked over, but would not stay running unless you feather the throttle to keep it running....

We are thinking there is a problem with the maf housing, but we are not entirely sure. There are so many variables that it is difficult to diagnose.... Hopefully we get it figured out soon.

Unplug maf, start again. If your maf calibration is way off it won't let the car run with it plugged in. Other than that, maybe the TB, but it'll usually stay running even with that unplugged.

Throttle body is solid. Maf cal is solid. I adjusted the ground above thte hpfp. We will see how that works out once the battery finishes charging

At least you checked the big things, did you double check the crank sensor just to be sure? And did you check the rest of the grounds on the car to make sure they are good? I know you painted that ground plate above the hpfp but did you make sure that it was getting a good connection with the block? That was one of my biggest worries when we started assembling everything last weekend. What about the map that's on the car right now? Umm can't think of anything else I'm still a little drunk from last night.

EDIT- i guess i should explain the issue, i am having the same exact issue as described in this thread.
Restart after head rebuild

His solution that fixed his problem was that his MAP sensor was not even installed into the IM, causing a massive air leak.
My car will start, but it only stays running for about 2 seconds then it dies instantly.



So today superskaterxes came over to help me do some troubleshooting with my fail of a car. Still not much progress, we tested a few things.

After unplugging the MAF sensor, the car would start, keep running then die. It would run like shit while it ran tho.

We switched to a smaller maf housing with the sensor plugged in, car starts, then instantly dies.
Unplug the sensor, it runs but runs like shit.

Tested the throttle body, its functioning correctly.

What i need to do is a boost leak test to find if i do in fact have a vac leak.

This shit is becoming more and more stressful by the day. I am no troubleshooting expert and i am personally running out of solutions. Ive already thrown enough money at it and i am now having issues even larger than before....

Boost leak test should have been the first thing you should have done.

The problems only end when u quit and sell the car.

So with a recent change of events, some things are changing on my car.

Just sold my turbo, manifold, ewg, and whale dick.

Its all being replaced with the fasts,

T4 twin scroll, top mount steedspeed mani supporting the massive weight of a double ball bearing Precision 6265.

Figured i cant keep greatness a secret forever

So with a recent change of events, some things are changing on my car.

Just sold my turbo, manifold, ewg, and whale dick.

Its all being replaced with the fasts,

T4 twin scroll, top mount steedspeed mani supporting the massive weight of a double ball bearing Precision 6265.

Figured i cant keep greatness a secret forever

The 6265 uses a dif material for the wheels, but if that things anything like my 6466, it's waaaaaay lighter than your old turbo haha. The PTE's are so light it's scary. My k04 is even loads heavier than the Precision.

I was actually reading through your thread yesterday and noticed where you were mentioning the weight difference. Its nice to get weight reduction+power in the same mod

Im still on the fence about this one, im leaning more towards 5th port than being a meth junkie, i have a feeling that decision will rely on availability of the 5th port :crosses fingers: as well as the money i have available for it.

In the end, i would like to go 5th port though.

This aint no budget build. U need monies to catch skater. 5th port won't cut it....6th port with more powerful in tank fuel pump is what u need. Or a shit ton of meth

Lol, i realize this isnt a budget build Rich, but unfortunately i am on a budget at this point. I would get the top tier kit that DJ offers, to include the ITFP and both 5th/6th injectors.

My other option was direct port meth, scary, but rewarding when done correctly. Like i said, im still on the fence, but will most likely go with some DJ ghes luvin.

As for catchin skater..... im comin for ya. Like the lion in the wild, i wait for you to take down your enemy, then i swoop in and steal the kill. Its on now

So initially i was going to have the manifold swapped over to twin 38mm wastegates vs the single 44mm. But after consulting with a few of the OG's around here they said to just go for it and see how it plays out. Hopefully it doesnt creep to the point of creating anymore fail for me. The only downside to this is that i already agreed to sell my existing 44mm to the guy who is buying all of my stuff. So after consulting with the wifey last night, she went online and found the wastegate i need and ordered it for me. Couldnt thank her enough for that one.

Im done giving approximate timelines as to when this will be done, because this is becoming even larger of a build than i could have ever predicted as time progresses.
