Default LiquidSilverSpeed's GT3076R Build

Waddup. I've dailied a bolt on, billet wheel'd K04 for a year now (and dailied the stock K04 for 3 years prior.) and I'm bored of it. I've pushed it pretty hard this last year, to the point where it's smoking now, so it looks like it's time for an upgrade. I'm gonna get a GT3076R, Tial 44mm, HTP 3.5" intake, and exhaust manifold slapped on in a week or two (on top of what's already in my signature.) I'm going to go with Dizzy to tune it. Can't wait to dyno it and show y'all the results. Any guesses on power? Doing both 93 and E30.

Cool! What'd you make on the billet-wheel K04? I'd love to see a dyno plot (even VDyno) for comparison to a standard K04, or one of the BNR/CS drop-in turbos.

Unless you've got some additional (aux) fuel, I doubt that Dizzy is going to push you much beyond 400whp if your car can manage that much. I'd guess somewhere in 350-380whp range would be reasonable for your mods with the GT3076R.

No idea, never dyno'd it. I'm gonna guess 330/350 though? All I know is my butt dyno says it pulls harder than the OEM K04 lol. Those BNR/CS turbos are definitley an upgrade over my billet wheel K04 however, yes the upgraded turbo internals do make a difference, but nothing as drastic as those.

But oh no, even 400 seems like too much for my goals. My motor is stock and I'm never going to build it, I just want a fun street car. 380/380 on E30 is honestly my goal. Mostly doing it for the turbo and ewg noises.. Jesus I'm a ricer.

which mishimoto core are you running? I see a lot of people run the M line core but on paper, the S line seems like the better choice. Thats the one I want but mounting may be a problem. Are you using a custom crash bar? or one of the ones the many vendors make?

If your goal is just under 400, the BNR S4 has your name all over it. And it's a "simple" bolt-on affair. You can reach your goals with the S3, but you'd be pushing it pretty hard. The CS turbo can get you there as well as its sized somewhere between the S3 and S4.

Any of those 3 turbos will spool quicker than a 3076.

I got the M Line, it does the job for what I need. Yes the core is big.. mounting it on a CB may be a problem worth finding the solution to.. I'm irresponsible and have been running without a CB for half a year now. One day I'll muster up the motivation to somehow put one on.. one day.

I'm sure they're better turbos for my need, but I'm only getting the GT3076R because I'm buying it as a kit, someone in my local nator is selling me his old set up from his Speed 6:

GT3076R
Tial 44mm EWG w/ Dump tube
HTP 3.5" Intake
Exhaust manifold
Oil feed return line

For $1450. Can't pass that up.

He said tubular? But he's not even sure himself. The entire kit is still on his car, he's taking it off this weekend and it's coming on my car the 21st.

I'm guessing it's the eBay manifold with an ATP bolt-on 3076 turbo.

Ya, the ATP bolt-on is a garrett with a swapped out turbine housing to match the K04 manifold flange and stock downpipe flange.

If the manifold output flange is the same as your Mazda, you got an ATP/Garret kit (Most likely) and if not, you got a custom manifold for a standard turbo flange.
The second one gives you more options for the next turbo.

I say that if you don't like the lag of an old 3076...You could get same flow with smaller wheels these days and because it is already above your goal you could even go smaller.

I bet in a short while you will be looking at the cost of forged internals to open it up....

^^what he said.

I remember the days when I thought 400whp was plenty.....even though I only got up to mid-300's.

Now my long term plans have me looking hard at the PT5558 Gen2 pushing 500+.

Ah. I didn't know that, cool then yes that's the case, it uses stock downpipe flange.

In that case yes ATP/Garrett kit, since it uses the same flange. Good to know. I think I'll be more than happy though and won't be looking to build the motor any time soon. I've driven it on K04s for 4 years now, I'll probably be another 4 on this 3076 lol

Will do. Do different brand manifolds make a big difference on our cars? Only thing I think would concern me are the welds over time

Depending on the version of eBay manifold. The earlier ones did have weld failures. They're on V3 now and are much better...from what I've heard.

I read about uneven surface too but it can be easily checked with a solid ruler or something straight and a filler gage. But if you don't see black exaust leak it could be a good sign that it is ok.

The 6 it's coming off of is tuned by Nishan, and he hasn't seen anything of concern in his logs, so I think it'll be okay haha
