| Not Ranked : 0 score What kind of other suggestion do you need? Lol. Get a GT3076 with a twin scroll hotside and you're done. Unless you want an HTA3076....both are a great choice. Either of the T3 twin scroll options Garrett offers will do the job admirably. Here's to hoping my shit will outflow all of you (except for Dustin. He's a cheater.)Edit: was on page 24 when I wrote and posted this lol. Goddamn that mani looks sexy Leen! This thread moves fast wtf lmao

The compressor size is dictated by the turbo, e.g. 3076. You won't need to change it. The reason there are so many different hot side configurations available is cause the hot side essentially controls all of the spool and flow characteristics of the turbo (assuming the compressor isn't limited). A smaller a/r hot side results in quicker spool... but will limit flow at higher rpm's, and a larger a/r hotside does the opposite. 0.78 a/r is perfect for what it sounds like your goals are. You'd have a very very very fun setup that you could either run conservatively, or turn up the fun knob if you ever get a wild hair. I <3 kapton tape... shit is awesome. but i'm 99% sure that's gold thermal foil. Looks similar though lol.

FWIW, I have a ATP 2871r and if I had it to do over again I would go with a 3071. The only reason I got a GT28 was because at the time we AP guys had a load cap so I didn't think I could de-tune a 3071 to run under the cap. two months after install...cap was lifted...FML The GT28 spools almost as fast as a K04 does and actually I still de-tune the spool to bring on TQ a bit after 3K otherwise...well we know what happens otherwise.... sooooo a 3071 [not even twin scroll] is probably a perfect all around turbo as far as spool and displacement for the MZR, built motor or not. if you want big power in an AWD platform you need bigger. my .02

| Not Ranked : 0 score Unfortunately, I'm not going this cool route. But, for the hell of it, I decided to price turbos. I only priced Garrett, I know of course there are other brands. But, I don't know shit about any other brand. And, I used ATP for pricing. Perhaps better pricing is available elsewhere, so, this is just point of reference: Garrett GT3076R (aka GT30R aka GT3037) Ball Bearing Turbo Turbine_AR: 78_only_avail_on_dividedT3 Specify_Turbine_Housing_Style: Divided_T3 $1353.00 Garrett GT3582R (aka GT35R, aka GT35/40R) Bearing Turbo Turbin_AR: 78_only_on_T3_twinscroll_vband Specify_Turbine_Housing_Style: Divided_T3 $1,436.49 Garrett GTX3076R Dual Ball Bearing Turbo .78 A/R Divided T3 Exhaust housing for GT Ball Bearing Series $1687.93 Garrett GTX3582R Dual Ball Bearing Turbo .78 A/R Divided T3 Exhaust housing for GT Ball Bearing Series $2090.61 It looked like, for another $100, you could get a .82 A/R divided T3 housing for the GTX turbos. Not sure why you'd pay $100 for that small of a difference. Now, I checked Forced Performance, for their modified Garret turbos. They don't actually list divided T3 as an option! At least not on their site. A Google search seemed to indicate that you might be able to use divided T3 housings with them, I got some hits on that. But, I didn't spend enough time to get a definitive answer. And, presumably, there is a reason why they don't list such an option on their site. So, it might take a phone call to Forced Performance to find out for sure. At any rate, here are the prices: FP HTA GT3582R $1699.00, lists a 1.0 A/R divided T4, no divided T3 FP HTA GT3076R $1699.00, lists no divided housing option at all |

| Not Ranked : 0 score And, by the way, the GTX turbos weren't as bad as I was expecting, given people saying how pricey they are. In fact, the GTX of the 3076 is a few bucks cheaper than the HTA 3076. Though, for my current build with single scroll, I think that I shoulda gone with the HTA 3076 instead of the GT3071. That might have been 90% as good as the twin scroll options. Fuck, I never learn what the best things are until I've already done something fucking else. Dammit. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think he explains it quite well in his post tbh, HTA Turbos: - for the 35r:they have a divided (ie. twin scroll) t4 option, but there isnt one listed for the t3 option ( there might be a twin scroll option but a phone call might be needed to verify) - for the 3076: they dont have a twinscroll option online either, but a phone call might be needed I also think he was stating that even though they dont state if they are twin scroll or not, he is saying you can swap turbine exhaust housings for a twin scroll setup. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I did some research and on ATP's site u choose the 3076 (I chose the gtx3076 for shits and giggles). And they have the option, underneath the turbo description and flow charts, for a .78 A/R t3 divided housing. All together would cost about $1700. Heres the web page for it. http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...Category_Code=

| Not Ranked : 0 score I can't really comment on the HTA turbos, but people seem to get a little too hyped up about the GTX series. Yes, their compressor maps look awesome...however, the GTX is really only worth it if you're running *a lot* of boost. A GTX3076 performs pretty much the same as a GT3076 up to about 500hp. I'm not sure how much power you want, but if you're not gonna go ballz to the wallz, a GTX isn't quite worth it unless you just like to brag about having a GTX |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, MSP611 didn't read my post too well... LOL. I first listed the regular GT (3076 and 35). Then the GTX (3076 and 35). Then some info about the HTA (3076 and 35). I no expert, but, from what I see, it looks like the GTX's have better top end than a regular GT. While the HTA's claim to have both better top and bottom end compared to a GT, but, the emphasis is on bottom end. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well since this motor makes great bottom end torque anyways u think the GTX would be a better buy. They are about exactly the same price

| Not Ranked : 0 score Like I said, I'm not gonna try to pretend to be an expert on the HTA turbos. They don't list compressor maps, so I have no idea how they compare to regular GTs or GTXs. I'm just trying to save you money if you care about saving money. No sense in getting best-of-the-best if you're not going to utilize the potential. Here's a good example: Tial MV-S wastegate is 38mm and can support plenty of power. Costs $230. If you're into having the biggest/best and say "I want the Tial 60mm WG because it's BETTER and can flow more!!!!" then you just dropped $550 for something you'll never use to its full potential. Bottom line is, what's your power goal and do you care about money? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm lookin to spend around $5000 for hopefully pauter rods and other essentials plus BT build. And I don't want nothin crazy this will be my weekend warrior, but since I'm goin on a 3076 I dunno maybe like 380-400AWHP and Mayb 400AWFTLBS... But not sure. I don't wanna run no 25lbs of boost just conservative 19-20 Mayb even lower if this turbo makes crzy power
