Top mount turbo setups

Our dyno is gracious lol. We're at altitude, so 450 is realistically just close to 400.

I speak in terms of where i live lol.


Insurance on STI's is the gotcha.... fuck that shit. Even the wrx was going to be more than my speed6 until we rated it under my dad (family plan ftw).

You got me thinking though... kinda reassessing my whole goals for a daily. And by the time i would be ready to do anything to the wrx.... ms6's will have come down a bit more in price.

Maybe i just need another speed 6 lol.

Oh and i got an incredible deal on this car from a tuner buddy. So what i paid + trans and motor would be like $13k total i would guess.

I got the ms6 down pipe like 80% tacked up tonight. Having a jig makes things quite a bit easier. I'll post pics tomorrow when its fully tacked and ready to be test fit. Then finish weld and test fit one more time... then installed on locals car! (and my mazda gets bolted up for good )

I have no idea if anybody is still interested in the HTA turbos for this setup. But if they are, I got an e-mail from Forced Performance. They'll sell you their turbos without an exhaust housing, either the 3076 or 3582 for $1524.00. ATP will sell you divided T3 housings with these options:

0.78 A/R Divided T3 Exhaust housing $295.00
0.82 A/R T3 DIVIDED Turbine Housing $395.00
1.06 A/R T3 DIVIDED Turbine Housing $395.00

Don't know why it's $100 more to go from 0.78 to 0.82. Maybe different manufacturer of the housing.

Lol, i literally got home last night, and instantly made two tack welds... then had to leave to go stay at my gf's house.....

no real excuse... so not sure what to say...







But i did get to snap this progress shot once i got home this morning:





Just needs one more lil up bend and one more straight section, and it's test fitment time. It'll be test fitted tonight i'm sure. And Probably mostly finish welded. Then one more test fit, and if all goes well (and jig is sufficient) i'll call it good and build 3 more.

oh yeah, and you can see the original jig portion used for fitment with my mani (tubular, not leen's) on the floor in the middle left of the photo. And the new one that's compatible with Leen's mani on the jig. I made it so that i could actually use a v-band clamp to hold the flange in place. Works very well.

I'm getting very good pricing on these things (buying quite a few in bulk), so it'll result in a good price for anyone looking to get one. I'll post more pics when they come in. The one in my pics above are for a t4 turbo, but i'm getting several t3's which will fit most of your turbos better.

Eventually that's the plan...

I think there are going to be some "choices" in the kit... at least initially. Cause i keep hip shooting these prices out there without doing any real cost analysis lol. The first few sets are going to be great deals, but then i'll have to sober up a lil bit and actually make it worth my time lol.

If everything works out well with these kits... they'll fuel the fire for the next project... so on and so forth :phillyb:

I'm gonna take monday off and button up my mazda and get it running. That'll make room in the garage for Darryl's car. Gonna be a busy rest of the week and weekend, but i want to get this shit wrapped up at least.
