I haven't been this excited since the first time I got laid.

I decided this stuff is too pretty to install on a stock block so I found a low mileage engine and bought some Pauter rods, CP pistons, and an ACT 6 puck clutch to go with it.

sheesh i keep seein people mention stuff about upgrading their engine when goin with somethin like a 30r and bigger, not knockin what their doin-just jealous mostly ha.

now im worried that ill b an idiot not to do the same but dont have a second car to have this one be worked on. i just want this kit and be done modding for now. anybody not getting the piston and rod combo and gettin this kit? thanks

mason and turd, great pics of ur future set up btw, save me some time piecing stuff together haha

Don't worry, lots of stock block BTs rolling around. Just keep the tune safe and stick to like 20 psi, and you'll have a really really fun daily setup.

Sounds stupid, but BTs are actually safer for this car than stock turbos.

not stupid at all, i remember alpha's 20psi thread and many were sayin they were safer with bt's but also there was concern of the increased stress but im takin your advice on the 20psi, that'll give me some piece of mind

Are there any plans or thoughts on making one of these nice manis with a t4 flange? Specifically, a twin scroll t4 flange

I'm pretty sure Leen has done T4 flanges on the stock location. Don't see why he wouldn't do one in the topmount.

1 reason he cant do a t4 top mount is cuz the ms3 cant fit a turbo up top. need to cut into the cowl/firewall

I know DJ has tested MS6 fitment. So, yes, a topmount on MS6 does fit. But maybe not a T4, no one has tried it that I know of.

As far as MS3, I know DJ said he's working on testing fitment, but, I don't know the status. Turd's status doesn't sound so good....

Well, if that is the case, then, maybe need to reintroduce the idea of a twin scroll for stock location. Leen said he didn't think he could make one using his design for a stock location. But, I guess I don't understand why. These things are carved out of flat plates. I must be missing something, but I figured it would be just a case of reversing the flanges -- put the T3 on bottom and the EWG on top instead of vice-versa. Must be something I'm not getting.

we took a bunch of pics, these ones give the best idea of the problem. the compressor housing is hitting the metal cowl under the wiper tray deal








and the turbo and mani arent lined up cuz thats as far as i could push the turbo in there with the current clearance issues

Could you tilt the part where the hotside mounts to the manifold forwards a little bit?

I don't know much about these but I never heard any rule about where they have to be parallel with the ground. Would that effect it's function much?

you could, but 2 problems. 1, you are comin super close to the valve cover as it is, any more tilt and you will be touchin there. 2nd, i spoke to leen about this awhile ago, and if he tilts it much more, its gonna mess with the flow a good amount.

Hey leen, i dont know if you have made a top mount for a regular 3, but if you have, could you just throw our head flange on there? i cant see anything else fitting differently between a reg 3 and a ms3, but i might be wrong

This is what happens when you dont check to see if the studs are tight on the turbo with a pg mani. i ended up loosing two of them, lol.

Dustin, i will get a new gasket asap and install it then we can get back to tuning and hopefully my car will actually make target boost.

yeah i believe jake (cpe) had it on his 3 sedan. you are thinkin that im sayin this mani was meant for a 3, thats not it. im sayin if leen has made a top mount that fit on a 3 (jakes) then why couldnt he copy the design over to us with our head flange. so smoke on that, turkey

dude, turd, dont go getting everyones panties in a wad just cuz it didnt work on yours on the first shot.

if your going top mount, you are probably at the point where trimming the cowl shouldnt be a big deal to you. i took a pair of vice grips and cracked mine off one piece at a time til everything i needed to clear cleared.
