To get in the way, I can't stand wearing gloves. I prefer the cuts and bruises, and the swear words that go with them.

Exactly! Every time I've put mine on, I end up taking them off a minute later. I like to feel those heat shields' sharp edges!

I should have been clearer, my mechanic gloves are pretty much all leather except the velcro which isn't exposed,

Certainly don't use any type of gloves with any synthetic material in them on super hot shit. A mix of thick cotton/denim/nomex and leather is pretty heat/melt resistant/proof.

How bought just waiting till things cool a bit before touching or licking them. You are right though, cheap mechanic gloves are mostly synthetic except for the insides of the palm to the inside of your finger tips, easy to melt the back of your hand by accident.

Also very true for about 80% of all mechanical work I do, you lose a lot of sensitivity with thicker type gloves, but they are nice for some jobs..

They're for preventing cuts/scrapes/bruises and keeping hands warm in colder weather.

I have a few pairs of this kind kicking around and a couple have melted finger tips from grabbing overly hot things such as exhaust components or hot saw blades or similar.

It's just something to be aware of because once you get to certain temperatures they actually pose more of a risk than a bare hand...the bare hand you'll touch something too hot and pull back right away whereas these will heat up more before you realize it, burn/melt and fuse with your skin and make a god damn mess of things.

Those are exactly what the above (base models) are for, along with continuing to give you some form of dexterity/sensitivity. They are definitely NOT for rushing jobs and delving into 200*+ engine components.

There are many versions and quality levels of mechanix gloves, and even more by all sorts of other brands, definitely realize the limitations of your particular set.

on an unrelated note, as to the amount of time you actually spent working on it:

Guaranteed to knock install time down by 50-75% depending on how many times you pet them.

Those are the secret to the stock DP bolts right there.

What is the expected ship date for the back orders? Is this batch that you are waiting on now large enough to provide turbos for all the orders currently waiting?

Should be Monday (not 100% sure quite yet). We have several smaller batches going at different stages and one large batch behind those.

On FB one of the beta guys stated he's going to be E85 dyno tuned tonight, so we should have some solid upper end of the spectrum data.

Yeah, that's the guy. I hadn't checked that thread in a bit, last I saw he was being questioned about logs on his 91 tune. Should be a good test car for E85 results.

What percent of E is he running? I don't know why, but it bothers me when I see "E85 tune." Must be because I never know what they mean by it.

Quick question about the CS turbo

Didn't bnr increase the diameter of the turbine bolt because the oem one flexed or something like that? Then you guys say you decreased its diameter? Is that kind of false that the oem one would heat up and flex? I may be talking out my ass I don't know someone please put me in my place if so lol

The one reason why I kept going back to a 50/50 mix before, at 19psi at 4500rpm I was already 95+ IDC's with e85. I know we can "push" them to around 110 and still "work", but I don't like going that far.

I'll answer this to the best of my knowledge, but I'm not sure what you are referring to.
Can you guys elaborate on "turbine bolt" or identify what you are talking about with a picture?

Can you guys elaborate on "turbine bolt" or identify what you are talking about with a picture?
I am speaking of the center bolt that goes through the chra. Excuse my lack of proper grammar. I am not big on turbine terminology I just bolt them up and go lol let the people with the correct background guide me in size and type.

I believe you're referring to the turbine shaft.

think about how it's mounted.. compressor inlet facing the driver's side, aprox parallel to the ground.

edit: It's all based on perspective, but yeah, compared to the beta pics that shit is upside down. def gonna lose 20+ hp, just like when you apply a sticker slightly crooked.
