Clicking when turning

Hey guys, my car is making a clicking sound sort of like a bad axle when I turn. The reason this is weird is that it only happens when my wheel is full lock left or right(backing out of a parking space, making a u-turn etc. Any ideas? ill try to get a sound clip after I get out of class but that wont be till 630 or so

Bad CV joint.

Check the boot for a crack/loss of grease.

You will need an alignment too then.

Stangcobra 09-27-2012 02:04 PM

I had the same issue. It was my steering rack. Make sure it is tight to the subframe!

Don't turn to full lock.

Problem solved.

zkrick 09-28-2012 06:06 AM

Meh i had a similar issue with my car. The top hat on my shock was not spinning freely and it was causing my spring to bind up and release make some sketchy sounds.
Idk but it might be your 400 coilover set. Call me nuts but i dont trust something that is 1/3 of the price of its comp.

thats what headlights and highbeams are for. use them?

pitch dark is the dumbest excuse i've ever heard. at least lie to us and tell us it was alive and ran out in front of your car.

I have this same clunk when parallel parking

Zbrit00x 09-28-2012 03:31 PM

I just experienced this yesterday.. Sounds like spring binding and clunking. Can feel it in cabin a lil too.. After doing some reading and an old thread revival.. It could be the strut bearing (bushing) since nothing was loose or leaking down low and mine makes noise with little steering input and at low speeds. It's funny though. Only happens sometimes.
