Default Do I need an upgraded HPFP

CXracing FMIC, Hypertech tune, Cobb SRI, Cobb turbo inlet, Street Unit test pipe, and a Forge BPV V.2....

Guess I just need some advice.. What do you guys think.. I just got all the body work done on my car so dont have money for a dash hawk just yet .. Is it common to need a HPFP wth these mods?

I'd say yes because of the test pipe.

Instead of buying a dashhawk, sell the hypertech and get an AP for about the same price as the other two combined.

They are tough for lazy people who don't want to search and expect the most common topic (HPFP) to be spoon fed to them without doing any research. And don't even try to tell me that you searched because that would be a fucking lie. I'm sick of looking like the dick all the time but I am also sick of people free loading information off of people who actually take the time to read.

You're rockin a genpu. The answer is you needed one a long time ago. If you did any reading at all here you would have known that. When you act like a tard, don't be surprised when people treat you like one. Espcially here geez.

Wow, total ignorance here...

Look, Gen 1's don't always need fuel pump internals. Is it good insurance? Absolutely, but you can be a fully bolt stage 2 car and never need them. Internals on Gen 1 depends on location and modifications and your tune.

Living in Florida ill bet you wont need em until you go deeper with mods. Colder climates generally always need em.

Hit up Lex for a stratifiedauto.com Tune, He can do Ap/HPFP/Tune combo, You will want HPFP with a tune because they are far more aggressive then an OTS.

Ultragauge is only 70$ and will beable to monitor FP compared to dashhawk (or just get AP)

Superb advice! I do monitor with other software and laptop and do run HT on gen 1 MS3 with mods below. Contrary to opinion of others, HT with my mods is damn close to the maximum capabilities of the K04 on pump gas. I did not initially need pump internals, but gradually over time I saw pump pressure dropping down to below 1600 psi under high load, occasionally as low as 1400's. Maybe it was just cumulative wear and about 60,000 miles of hard driving at that point.

If you further increase exhaust flow with an aftermarket downpipe, you'll probably overstress that pump, and at your mod level, the pump's days are numbered, even if safe now.

I wish I had upgraded earlier, frankly. Do it, even if just for peace of mind.

Glad i misses this thread since i was at the best god damn nator meat. OP, do some damn research next tine you feel like modding. Your car should have had internals put in mods ago. Now that you know, go buy them and put them in. Also, install them yourself. They are ridiculously easy. Once again, use the damn search button. Also; .noodz of gf or mom. Two year member and you post dumb shit like this. God damn.

He is using a HT... Chances of him needing the internals are slim. If he can view his fp with the ht, he should monitor them to be sure.I think the ht is a joke so I'm not familiar with its ability. If you want the absolute maximum performance from your speed, sell the ht to The sheep on m247 and get an Accessport. Then you will need the fp internals when using our great e tuners here on MSF. Get an AP, will save you the hassle on figuring out when your FP is going out. Dont want to go zoom zoom boom and later blame your mods when it was all on you. As stated before you could go without a HPFP but to reassure yourself... upgrade.

i would say everyone needs fuel internals period unless you wanna stay 100% stock. get AP and fp internals. dont push your car too hard til then. for reference, my fp was dropping to 800 on a stage 1 OTS map with just an intake.

Ok,

I did do some "damn research" as a lot of you have said. I found a few threads reviewing the different intake maps on the HT, found a few more with some people fully bolted on cobb AP's.

The results on peoples logs were very inconsistent and not definitive enough for me to make a conclusion I trusted without asking the question directly. I DID do a lot of research and it was my mistake to not have included that in the original post. For that, I apologize.

I should have bought a dash hawk and reviewed the logs instead of just asking I guess, but I thought a community was about helping each other as opposed to just insulting people looking for said help. I was hoping to find some good support (which some members were kind enough to reply with their honest opinions) And I want to thank Haltech for contributing as well.

I didn't spend much time on MSF because of this happening before. (getting flamed because of my wheels) So despite the fact that I have been a member who has donated for 2 years, I didn't spend much time on here. Sorry for my apparent stupid mistake. Next time I will not ask and hope someone with the exact same mods as me has already found out first.
MSMS3 likes this.
