Not to mention the power and boost will still likely drop off as the RPMs climb. Peak power is all fine and dandy but if it doesn't hold the power well through the meat of the RPMs who cares?

I'm actually from Wigan, so not far from where you were at all. Bring shit loads of fp internals, they go for a rip off price here.

Not entirely true. I pulled 294whp bolted on straight 93 and my tune is still being tweaked. Schmitty pulled 307whp bolted and running e85 but I do agree that the Moore dyno reads a tad low.

Thanks ive considered the 3071r and the 3076r i just love the response of the k04. But point well taken efficiency is key.So all the supporting mods will be applied.

h.h.sk1nny, where do i inquire bout one of these turbos i'm pretty curious i mean if it runs more efficient than the stock k04 i dont see an issue in investing in one, but im not completly convinced on the #'s just yet. i am interested though. i just wanna see the numbers on a car with a upgraded fuel system.

Based on my experiences with big wheeled stockers on srts and volkswagons this turbo will probably make about 35-40whp max over the ko04. Ive always been a fan of reworked stock turbos cause they pose for stock when your out racing peeps and they look under the hood. If you can get this turbo to around 360-375whp your car would flat out move. The power band would be very beefy and pull realy hard to 6400. Expect trap speeds around 116-118 and high 11s. These turbos are also the most fun on the street with tons of torque right off the hit and very fast response in betweent shifts. If someone was to run an aggressive 50% e85 tune with this turbo at 24psi it would take minimun 22psi on a gt3071-3076 to beat it from a roll race or even on the track. Dont underestimate what these big wheeled stockers can do. It takes more than peak numbers to go fast. I definately would love to see hhsk1nny with this turbo or even a few other guys like phate, bewsted, ish or anyone really. Who gives a fuck what the dyno says. Get the turbo, do an aggressive e85 tune and go beat up on some bt speeds and throw down some real deal numbers at the track. I say someone needs to handle this shit. LOL We can compare what this does to my ptp big wheeled stocker Ill be taking to the track soon.

Also if someone had the know how to or paid for someone to port the exhaust housing this little turbo setup would be fucking pretty sick. With a hogged out back half i bet it would muster 380-385whp with mad crazy trq. That woudl be enough for 11.6@121 in the quarter. I know I ran 11.7@120 with only 381whp and less aggressive powerband than this lil tard would have. LOL I really wanna emphasize that the peak dyno numbers wont matter as much when the curve is real strong. Expect around 35-40whp and 45-50whp if you port your back half. Thats cool shit when peeps look at your car and it has a "stock" turbo

Ill see if i can grab you guys so gopro vids of the speedo. The car is a blast to drive.

Btw to go along with what driver was saying. If this turbo took off that is what akuma was going to bring to FP was a bigger exhaust side for stage 3 and we were going to throw it on my car but it never hit that point..

Anthony, you make me sad. The BNR stg 3 is $100 more and everything about it is better than this turbo. Sure it's not 100% stock appearing, but if you have the stock heat shields on....it basically looks stock. Run 24psi on a BNR stg 3 and kick the shit out of this turbo, for sure.

Probably. Id probably put this between the stg2 and 3. Either way its cool in my eyes. Like I said Ive always had a soft spot for setups like this.

Kinda maybe sorta wanna do this.

I'd love to be the first to pull the trigger. 1,000 is a hefty price for 30-40 hp though ...

I really want to go gtx3071 but of course its more $ and I'd risk blowing my motor on my DD. Can't afford to build a motor right now

Subbed. keep the info and opinions coming

Your more likely to blow on the k04 in my opinion ....but as fast as the bts are spooling up now your not really getting much farther from the critical rpm range with the trq curve now

I agree, the main problem i have with a reworked K04 is that even the upgraded numbers put us right around E85 cobalt territory, and they are still twin scroll, and still lighter... i would hate to lose to a stock turbo car if mine had an upgraded.

There are at least 2 cars on the board with these already. Interestingly enough neither of them seem to be really really happy with it, but neither are disappointed.

Just this^^^

A ko4 can make north of 25 psi by 3k, So when I tune them I push peak tq out near 4k for safety. Get a gt28 and that pushes the tq curve out slightly, yet will pull harder near redline. This turbo is a great option for people, but as everyone has stated already, the BNR S3 is only 100 more.

Now if this turbo was only 500-700, I'm sure they would sell the shit out of them

I definitely think $1000 is way to much for this turbo, priced around $500-600 I know I would buy one, they would be selling them easily.

But I still don't know if it uses the stock shaft/bearing etc... because that is where the fail is. If it does, then the turbo will most likely fail, unlike the bnr units which have a much thicker shaft, and upgraded bearings.

I agree. This turbo is a great option but there is better out there obviously. Shes a sleeper when you start beating up on other cars but thats about it.

I wish they would sell the turbo at the 500-700 there would be a better demand. I need to put a prototype sticker on my car. Lol.

There is a thread i started the first few days after i had the turbo on m247. That should answer a few other questions that people may have. Just look it up by the name of the turbo in my sig. Again that has hopes of what the turbo should have done. And does have tech info on chra, wheels used, and it does have upgraded bearings and shaft. Again nothing was used from the original k04 but shell

You can only get so much out of a stock unit with a billet wheel.

I don't think I'll be bothering getting this, it's gonna cost $995+shipping+20% import tax (they will not mark the value down) = around $1300.
Compared with the pg rework which is $700 shipped, plus they will mark down the value as $400 = $780
$500 is one helluva difference especially when you think the pg makes similar power. It's a shame as I was ready to buy.

Maybe FP will see some interest in BT's on our forum and consider something a bit more popular.

There is so much interest in drop in turbos on our forum (way more than many other platforms, imo) that there is room for more than ATP.

That would be nice but when I had my turbo done that was one of the reasons for the delay. They were busy working on turbos for evos...there is a much bigger market. I would love a bigger option but if this one costs 1k imagine what they may want to charge for something bigger for the mazdas..

gtx's are in the 1500.00 range, just for the sake of argument (not trying to break em', but we are stuck on the $1000 price point).

Ok, that makes this better. The k04 CHRA shell is what threw me off. Still doesn't get my vote for the price, though. The problem with the k04 is you can only hog it out so much. The Evo 16g has more room, which is why FP can make a 100% stock appearing turbo that makes 500whp. I asked BNR if he could fit a gtx2867 setup inside of his housings and he said there is no way...

That may not be the case for much longer, reason they are looking at this platform.....

Just a thought

Who cares if it looks stock, other than auto-x'ers..... unless I'm missing something????

If it does I'm moderately interested. I'd like to make 375... maybe this'll come close.

For that price FP should of ported out both compressor and back half of the turbo. That would justify the $1000 price tag. I do agree the price is about $300 to high. At $600-699 it would look much more appealing. Again it could be a cool setup though and maybe its just my wheels turning all the time LOL but ewg manifold with ported back half and this turbo would be really cool. Then you might see the 400whp they claim. Like i said my wheels are always turning LOL.
