Gas mileage and a test pipe so I have had the midpipe on for 3 days. Every Monday I drive the same 220 mile round trip, the same way the same time of day, same speed, same everything. Today was the first trip with the midpipe. . On winter mixture of gas my mileage has always been between 26.7 - 28.2 ish. So I checked my mileage after the 1st leg of the trip (110 miles) and the friggin computer read 31.7 mpg, woooo hooooo, damn it I'm stoked............. |
Yeah, I did DP/RP and an intake and have been averaging 29.2 mixed and have pulled 34 on an all interstate trip with the wind. It's nice to get more HP and more MPG at the same time!!! |
unfortunatly HP only give you better mileage if you can stay off the boost. i average 20mpg city and 30+ on highway trips with cruise |
True. Most of the bolt on mods we do to cars increases the efficiency of the engine. (intake, exhaust, tune, etc.) When cruising we will get better mileage. Like reddeer said though, the other side of the coin is what happens when we hit the gas. All that extra efficiency lets more fuel go in... I noticed a good jump in cruising mileage when I put a bigger turbo in too. Because it spooled later, it didn't get into boost as often just cruising around town. |
I still can understand why people claim to get 30mpg or 20 mpg keeping car out of the boost??.....Im fucking getting 14 mpg keeping out of the boost 160 miles to a tank driving like a granny....:261: |
I get around 225 per tank. |

i have seriously bad gas mileage too but i also drive all city miles and am usually roasting the tires around town pegging the gas between shifts to keep the car fully boosted at all times! I love my MS3!:nono: |
