They have issues with everything, you got to be retarted to take their shit seriously. Their timing device is WAY OFF. These are the same people that claimed they achieved a 5.2 0-60when every one else was getting around 6.1 -6.4. OH yeah 101mph for a stock GTI? LMFAO!

Ever since they re did their track all the times they've recorded have been complete and utter bullshit (Motor Week). I would never relay of them for accurate test #’s. However, the actual review it self isn’t all that bad now that I’ve read it.

I think everyone's talking about the fact the GTI has a higher trap speed... How can a car with 63 less hp be catching up to the MS3 at the end of the 1/4? Incredible gearing?

Incredible gearing?[/QUOTE] No, by an incredible inaccurate timing device. A stock GTI wouldn’t trap 100+ in the ¼ if Jesus Christ himself drove it. Not even at Cecil! lol. Not long ago I was at the track with 2 08's GTI'S w/ DSG tranny ans APR stage 1 tune / DP/ intake, etc.. Both were running 14.3@98-99mph all night long. Very consistent but no better than a stock MS3. I understand this new GTI is a bit stronger but not that much stronger. Last edited by ms3077; 03-11-2010 at 08:15 PM. |

Easy.. they have a 120 lb guy driving the GTI and +200 lb dude granny shifting the MS3 (hehehe). The newer GTI has cut some weight, can't say the same about the new MS3 but those trap times does seem a little off.

Found the article on their testing equipment... Wii Physics - Measure your 0-60 time with a Wiimote Actually I read a good article a while back about measuring 0-60, skidpad, 1/4 mile, slalom, etc. It may have been edmunds (can't remember now), and talked about how they do everything stock... Full tank of gas, regular asphalt, stock tires, lowest recommended fuel (unless something else is explicitly recommended "for best performance", etc.) rather than a fuel not readily available besides the track. Also about the timing, they talked about how you can adjust times (something about a way to get a few feet of rollout before the clock starts on the 0-60, which in reality makes it a 4-60).
