Help with acceleration vibration Hi all, need some help figuring out some vibration under heavy acceleration. I just finished installing shocks and springs on my MS3. When I took out the driver side shock out of the hub assembly the inner cv joint assembly fell out, it stayed in the transmission but the whole assembly seemed to come apart in the boot. Ive seen this before on other cars and just lined it all back up pushed it back in place. The boots are in great condition on the axles with no rips and there is none clicking sounds at all. I also replaced my bad rmm with the E-Focus one. Have any one here experiences with the cv joint falling out of place when installing shocks and it causing vibration after ? I really don't want to replace my axle and find out it wasn't the problem. Any other ways to diagnose this problem and be sure it's the axle ? |
I've done a lot of suspensions and have NEVER had a cv joint fall apart. Hell I've pulled a number of axles and never had a joint fall apart. I think I'd replace that axle. |
How long have u had the e focus rmm because they don't hold up. |
What kind of vibration is it? Does it happen only when you press the accelerator? |
I had one cv joint fall apart in the boot before while pulling an axle, asked around and they said you can line them up and it will fall back in and it ended up fine. I am guessin it didnt work oUT in my favor this time but i want to be sure before i spend 300 dollars on a new one. I put in the rmm when I did the suspension two days ago so it is brand new. It's a shuddering type of vibration and only occurs under heavy acceleration. And I can't tell if it just manifested itself or was always there because my old rmm was so bad the center fell out when I pulled it from the car |
They're only $80 shipped or $140 for both; DTA axles on eBay. |
