How hard to you drive your car?

Id figure it would be interesting to see some numbers on how hard people drive their cars. How many of us run our cars hard week by week? Feel free to post up your mods and the option you picked.

Dash08 04-25-2009 06:15 PM

I can tell you not a day goes by without running through the gears at WOT. It's hard for me to keep my foot out of it. This car is just too much fun to drive like a little old lady on the way to sunday service.
The only problem with a boosted car is everyone else drives extra slow!

fhaze 04-25-2009 06:25 PM

Bone stock. 2nd, 3rd, 4th till she runs out of ooomph.

Regular 3rd pulls to 5.5k from 3k.

.3 knock at WOT after 5k is the most I've recorded, AFR's go low 10's.

Most knocking is in the 3k or lower range. 2-3 ponts somtimes.

ms3077 04-25-2009 06:54 PM

I definitely put this car through its paces on a daily basis. Life is short.

aaronc7 04-25-2009 07:19 PM

dont necessarily race, but lots of WOT runs every day.

Meder 04-25-2009 08:07 PM

Racing, logs, wot runs, all the same really.

martyxattack 04-25-2009 10:48 PM

atlanta pd>WOT

ms3jake 04-26-2009 08:27 AM

WOT 2nd-4th shift around 5800 average around 2 times a week some weeks not at all. Once in a blue moon 5-6th take up to 120-150. Nothing to log with. Only raced my friends sti once from a roll (I won) Im going back to stock soon so I can enjoy the car more and do daily wot runs if I want.

gsrtype1 04-26-2009 08:30 AM

I WOT pretty much everytime I leave a light or have a chance but never do redline launches.

Derek88 04-26-2009 11:08 AM

Maybe once a week for me... but I dont drive much. No more than 9 miles a week if I don't go anywhere... but up to 60 miles a week if I go out cruising. Or 250 miles a week if I go home from college.

m4tic 04-26-2009 11:32 AM

i may drive "normal" if i want to stretch that last 1/8th tank of gas :D.... but i dont launch it

I agree!

Bigbody250 04-26-2009 01:19 PM

I bought the car for a fun car and barely a day goes by it doesn't see WOT through a few gears... and its an 09 with 14k on it already....:bukkake:

corbs 04-26-2009 02:26 PM

WOT everday everday i spin my tires

Smokehouse 04-26-2009 02:43 PM

I was going to beat on this thing like a red-headed step child until I found out that some are popping...after I finish my BPV/intake logs I'm going to easy on it for the rest of the time I have it.

superskaterxes 04-26-2009 07:08 PM

i went to ATCO raceway last tuesday. i did 13 runs and on each of my timeslips there wasent more then 5 mins between them. i essentially hot lapped for an hour cause no one was there. i fried my clutch pretty bad and drove like a grandma for 2 days. after it cooled im back to boosting after every shift.

wisniaPl 04-26-2009 07:55 PM

wtf why people bought that car to"I do a few logs and the occasional WOT pull"

Decepticon 04-26-2009 09:11 PM

i feel much better now after finding out there's a number of people going WOT on a daily basis............My name is Decepticon and I am a WOT-aholic.

martyxattack 04-27-2009 01:22 AM

i dont wot because my license is suspended is that a good enought excuse for you

CherryMicaChick06 04-27-2009 07:50 AM

I usually drive in the city which limits my speed, but on the days I have to hit the highway to go somewhere, I go a little crazy when I leave the toll booths.

Buildabong 04-27-2009 07:53 AM

how bout so hard i blew the motor!!!!!! YAAAAAYAYAYAYa fuck hills =( not even racing ftw

BlackMS3 04-27-2009 08:00 AM

5 Tickets in 8 months... license suspension pending...

I went completely through a set of Kumho SPT's in 7 months... You can see the steel belt....

53K miles and all of them have been brutal...

I'll tell you why, because there isn't a need for me to do an WOT run everytime. I enjoy my car very much and respect its power. Nothing wrong with an occasional WOT pull/punishment to an occasional person who thinks they are hot shit in a mustang and crusing most of the time.

johnnyspeed6 04-27-2009 08:18 AM

I like to see.feel. and hear boost in all my gears .. maybe 2 psi maybe 16 .. but I likes it and that is why I again own a turbo car... I go rwd V8 to turbo 4, back to rwd V8 back to turbo 4 .. here I am again ... boosting and enjoying it .. especially on windy country road ..no launching .. i feel the drive train wincing under the AWD boost combo .. I dont want to go to the dealership ..

clos561 04-27-2009 08:54 AM

i accelerate fast sometimes, but for the most part i dont go wot unless i need to make a pass or race another car. The abuse is pointless on such a nice car. O and i like my tires...

fastdreams 04-27-2009 08:56 AM

I run it pretty hard. WOT at least once nearly every time I drive it. Then I take it to the track and run the snot out of it for 20-25 minutes at a time - if I could afford it I would do that every weekend.

Most of the time though the "hard" part on the car is the twisties. I expect to replace suspension bushings, wheel bearings, rod ends, etc sooner than later. This car loves to be pushed hard in the twisties - that's when it comes alive.

doubleflusher 04-27-2009 09:01 AM

Now that I have the intake, inlet and bpv installed, I go WOT more often.

It's like a symphony under the hood.

I do not, however, do any logs. I don't have the equipment to do so.

Docnox 04-27-2009 10:31 AM

Depends on my mood, the weather, and where I'm heading. I think you need some more options in this poll. I haven't really had any races, but I do WOT it up at least once per short drive. Obviously longer drive = more ripping.

MrBig 04-27-2009 10:56 AM

I enjoy my car & the occasional WOT run. It gets pushed at the track doing time attack, currently it's the fastest street FWD there (& it beats some AWD cars times).

yoichi 04-27-2009 11:14 AM

If my car were my wife,
I'd get arrested for domestic viloence.

The great thing is that she starts up, and pulls like a freight train every time (Knock on Wood)

Whats the point of going big if you aren't gonna boost right?

Fa5t 04-27-2009 11:21 AM

I live near some killer twisties, so I do a lot of spirited driving.

kingpin748 04-27-2009 12:00 PM

I do random WOT runs usually in heavy traffic to get in front of soccer moms in SUVs.

DaleNixon 04-28-2009 07:01 AM

I put a G35 to shame yesterday. I love the sound of their baritone exhaust though... as I'm flying by.

But really I drive the car very civilized and only use the power when I really need it, I'm feeling like venting a little, or when some douche in a car costing 4x as much starts driving like a jackass around me and gets served. I'm not sure if they are amazed at how fast my car is or if they think theirs is broken.

lidokrantz 04-28-2009 07:43 AM

all of the possable answers quite did not quite fit for me for many reasons LOL...but the reasons i do not drive WOT are many...but i do hit on it three quarter throttle to 80 mph when the "SPOT" is right and no ones around...As a middle aged dude, coach, well known in the rural community, owner of a reail store in another rural community..people know me, and it's not to cool to be racing in the 20-55 mph limits around here as well as just getting a ticket recently doing 50 in a 30 DOH !!! But i do hit it from a roll when i can...Because of the engine failures and ticket i have been driving more conservative than normal...but this past Sunday approaching my favorite ramp onto the highway i hit on the car...at the top of the ramp either slow down or nail it to get in front of the oncoming traffic...i said fuck it and hit it the speedo said 80+ as i darted into the slow lane in front on the traffic...indeed felt good......but but in the fast lane was a cop behind a speeding TSX getting ready to pull him over when Gomer (me) fly's by and is doing 80+ in a 55 shit shit shit....1st time i hit on her hard in 2 weeks,,,Ok here we go again...but luckily he pulled the TSX over and not me otherwise i would of been duck soup....but overall in congested NJ driving most days suck and on weekends now the police are all over the place....so i REALLY do not want to be hassled by cops/tickets/points etc etc neighbors talking about my loud car so i deive easy most of the time and just pick my spots once in awhile....yea, i am one of the old slow farts but if anything my car is still in perfect shape so at least something good is coming out of it.

EvilSpeed3 04-28-2009 03:44 PM

I got arrested for doing 140 in a 40 last year and have been without a license since. I get my license back tomorrow. Finding insurance will be a blast. My Stage 4 Saab is gone with a MS3 taking it's place in the garage. The car is currently being built for daily driving, weekend dragstrip, and monthly track use, as to avoid losing my license again.

I desperately need AA (Automotive Anonymous)

My name is John. I am an Auto-Addict. I have admitted I am powerless over WOT, that my life has become unmanageable. A power greater than myself (Boost) CANNOT restore me to sanity.

yoichi 04-28-2009 03:48 PM

140 on a 40 is just plain dumb and stupid my friend.

You deserve to lose your license.
