Default How has your Gas mileage been lately

FOR me it has sucked BIG TIME . As of late"""" This is Fuck-up , I can't even get 18 MPG and No !!! I am not beating it in cold Jersey weather, No long warm up periods , just back country roads with limited stop and go.in town. Is it the Fuel or is it the Hypertech I mean no banging gears @ 6k just Normal driving and the MPG sucks. I had 85.3 miles on the trip and when I filled it up today { Just incase} it took 4.795 gallons = 17.78 mpg .. My T-trim Lightning pushing close to 600rwhp gets about 11-12 and about 14.5 in HWY mode WTF anybody else know if it is attributed to the ethonal % in the fuel due to the winter Call this FAIL all you internet POSERS but it pisses me off..

My mileage always drops in the winter but I still average about 22 mpg versus 24-25 in the summer.

My gas mileage seems to be about the same. Sometimes, I break 300 miles to the tank, and, other times I get around 275 or so. In the summer, it was the same story. I hope everything works out.

This is me exactly. 275-300 miles a tank tops. However, on one tank, I ran some Prestone Fuel System cleaner and I think I got like 340 miles out of the tank.

I'm getting 23, but I just installed a cpe nano halfway through this tank. It appears to be helping mileage so far. In the summer I get closer to 25.

21-22. all highway driving i got 25

summer my usual will be 24-25. never did much solid highway driving in the summer yet... or it would be mixed with cruising around with nator pa... which isn't good for mpg

Mine has been pretty shitty lately. I don't do much highway driving, at all, so it's all mostly city.

I fill up at a quarter tank usually. I'll have to calculate my average based on that but I don't see it being above 20.

Yup. For me, it's usually a result of a highway/city mix. My highest number on the trip odometer so far was back in August when I managed 349 miles before fill-up on my way to Gettysburg for a work assignment. That same day, I drove on regular roads as well so it was perhaps 75% highway. I'm wondering if I could break 400 all highway on a long trip at a steady speed.

i consistently get 12 around town when beating it, and 18 when shifting at 2800. highway runs at 75 get me like 24. i just tune out all these high fuel numbers.

My only modification is a Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intake and I get approximately 350 miles per tank. Driving normally (2500-3000rpm) in NJ/DE winter.

I've done a little over 400 miles IF I'm driving VERY conservatively, meaning no boost, hard accelerations, or loading the engine. I was testing to see how many miles I could truly get from topping the tank off to driving her until she sucked it dry and stalled. For the MS6s, as soon as the warning light comes on, you can squeeze out another ~30 miles depending on driving. Not sure about the 3s. We can all get great gas mileage, just need to lay off the boost.

Us 3's can get WAY more than 30 miles past when the light comes on. My light comes on usually when it says 35ish miles to empty. And I have gone that 35 miles and then another 10 or so after it said "0 miles to empty." I think I remember another thread where Amazon said he went like 60 miles after it said "0 to empty." His claim is probably actually true because I've never put in more than 13.8 gallons and we have a 15.9 gallon fuel tank.

pretty shitty. probably around 16-18, but thats because of weather. Tons of downshifting and such to stay off the brakes in the snow.

I appreciate the candid replys, so I am not alone It is hard for me to imagine getting more than 350 MPTF I find that there is a B R O A D range of MPG with these cars, No I didn't but this car as a ECONOBOX but when friends get better gas mileage in a full size Pick-up, it makes me wonder WTF is happenning here

that is pretty stupid to do because you are just hurting your fuel pump

also you get worse mileage in the winter because it takes longer for the vehicle to warm up.

I don't hammer it to hard, I did notice a huge increase after my Sri and tip. At home (bum fuck Egypt) I average 23-24.5. At college (decent sized city) I rarely see over 60 or even use sixth gear so 20-22.5. But I spend less money cause everything is so close. As long as I can make a tank last exactly 1 week I'm happy, could care less about economy then. (at home I'll fill up twice a week sometimes :/) lots of driving

as of late, much better. Been working on it with ATR/AP maps. Not touching the WOT or high load stuff(that I leaned out ages ago, friggin 8s and 9s in those fuel maps...).

But working on the idle and low load, part throttle and cruise maps, the car gets noticably better mileage.

I used to get about 425-450km per tank at best. Now I get between 525-550km per tank. 100km(62miles) more per tank, I find to be well worth the effort. Seeing as I drive 80km per day to and from work, I will take that savings.

I have noticed that this winter my MS3 has been getting the same mileage as in the summer. Driving style hasn't changed much.

I noticed a drop of about 2 mpg bolting up the snow tires and another 1.5 decrease when the cold hit. Makes sense though due to the increased open loop time, higher air density and, in my case, the extra idle time in the stop and go traffic caused by the snow.

Keep in mind that most cars are suffering a loss in MPG simply due to the winter mix that fuel companies produce.

From what the book says we have a 14.5 gallon tank.

I have actually run out of gas before since I stretched it very far. lol. We have about 2 gallons left after we hit 0 miles to empty.

As I'm pretty sure was already pointed out, the "reserve" on the MS3 is ~2 gallons.

This December I was in Cali driving back to Vegas and it happened to be during the storm when it rained like 10inches or something...I took some backroads to avoid LA traffic, and they were all flooded and closed, and no gas stations in sight so I went 340 miles on one Tank, the most the car has ever seen, and probably 50 miles after the light came on....My gf was freaking out so that was fun but I actually started to get worried too though she doesn't know that
Anyways cool story I know! I get about 22mpg per tank, driving 70% highway.

I got caught and ended up having to push to the limit to get to a gas station, and filled up with 15.1 gallons. I usually don't go past a quarter tank left, it was just one of those things. Got 24.5mpg on that run at least.

My running average with the car is just shy of 22mpg in a bit over a year, with a high of 28.9 (all freeway between St. George UT and LA) and a low of 16.2 (almost all city in the winter).

Long warm up periods multiple times a day, Multiple starts a day, and very short distance driving (less than 1 mile). I get about 20 mpg city and 27 hwy in delaware right now. I was able to manage 23 city and 32 hwy in the summer.
